I know it's a silly q! But I really want to go for lessons, but not sure what time of year surfers, surf, in the UK. At what point in the autumn/winter is the 'cut off' point, where I would be unlikely to get lessons? Thanks! : )

  1. in the heigh of summer you may get away with just shorts if your harcore enough but you will start to feel the chill more quickly.you have summer suits in full with legs and arms shorties tshirt arms and short legs these are made of thin neoprene hich warms a layer of water between your skin and the suit using your body heat.as the water gets colder your suit needs to be thicker lets say in winter i use a 5mm/3mm suit with boots and glove of the same thickness. 5mm rubber on body and les 3mm on arms and neck and crotch area for movement.so yes you can surf all year round if you dont then your no surfer hope you find this usefull.speak to your local surf shop they should advise you on what you need without rpping you off if not befriend a surfer ask for there advise most will be only to pleased to offer there help.
