Question:

Do you take the driver's test for a permit?

I was reading the Illinois Rules of the Road and im abit slow. so am I supposed to take a test to get the permit THEN use it in the drivers ed class THEN take another test for the license? btw can i take the class at any high school (cuz mine doesn't have it)?

  1. You will have to do the written exam part first to get your learners and have those for a year before getting your actual driver license. And no for the actual drivers license you only have to drive a car with a person from the office with you. You dont have to do a paper test ( or computer). Check with your local DMV for locations on the drivers ed classes they will have all the information that you will need. You can even call them ahead of time and make a appointment to do your learners license and ask then at that time where you can do the drivers ed course. Hope this helps


  2. idk about where youuuu live but here in N.Y  you take a written test for your permit you get it..drivers ed is optional but suggested and take the road test then  get your liscence.
