  1. I would take the train to work but the company I work for provides my transportation.  I am on-call for emergencies.

  2. Yes, I commute by both train and bicycle. They have designated spots to hang bikes on the train. Sometimes the train is overcrowded. There is also a "no-fare" zone in downtown. I often see (or more likely smell) a large number of homeless people in this area. Some people are rude and inconsiderate of others too. Its not perfect, but anytime you have a large number of people in a confined space, there will be problems from time to time.

  3. one time I was one a septa train and the conducter kicked this couple of the train at the next station, because at the last car(with no one in it of course) the girl was giving the guy a BJ

  4. Haha, well, I dont take a train to work but , I take a train FOR work, I am an engineer in freight service.

Sometimes I am annoyed by hobos riding, I guess they would be considered passengers, even though they hardly ever pay.

Actually most hobos are pretty decent people, just trying to get from one place to another and quite respectful and polite but now and again there are some real dangerous criminal types so we try to avoid them.

Last time I was on a passenger train I was annoyed by two guys that insisted on smoking even though there were no smoking signs everywhere.

  5. i would but first we will need to build a track

  6. Well, yes.

    1. People who take up seat, so other people can not sit next to or near them, some time even take up eight seats, when there is only one person ?

    2. feet on seats.

    3. some  leaving rubbish everywhere, under the seat, on the floor, everywhere but the bins.

    4. drunks who seem to be making trouble.

  7. I take the train everyday to and from work and I live in L.A. so you could only imagine what kind of people I see.

I started taking it about 2 months ago so I'm sure to experience more, but there have been a few incidents so far.

One was a man yelling at the top of his lungs talking to God knows who.  He wasn't yelling at the passengers, it seemed as if he were actually talking to someone across from him.

Another thing that really bugs the living sh*t out of me is when customers take up two seats and are inconsiderate, especially during peak hours.  A55holes!

  8. Currently, I only take the train a few days a month, but I did commute daily on CalTrain and ACE for 3 years.

CalTrain had clearly posted (and humorous) signs regarding "passenger ettiquette", and the most annoying thing I suppose was the number of people who ignorned them !! My biggest gripes:

    1) Healthy high-school students or worse, ADULTS sitting in the "reserved for elderly / disabled" seats during peak traffic and watching old folks have to SEARCH for a seat.

    2)  Kids and Adults babbling away at FULL volume on their Cell-phones.

    3) People taking up two seats, or putting their FEET on the seats.

    4) Teen graphitti artists damaging the interior.

Fortunately, back then I would wear my US Navy Uniform each Friday, because I also taught a JNROTC class.  MOST teens would truly cringe when faced down by a Lieutenant Commander (post 9/11) who spoke to them in a firm, no bullshite and  correct tone:

"Excuse me ladies, but I trust you can READ that sign ? Well, then I would hope you would be polite enough to give those seats up to this group of ladies (in their 70's)?"

Only once did I have trouble... I grabbed the kid by the wrist, told him I was placing him under "citizen's arrest" for vandalism (he was etching the windows with keys)... I marched him to a conductor, the conductor called the police, I gave my statement, and the kid was arrested.  His parents tried to file charges against ME... the judge threw them out and fined THEM for contempt.
