  1. People are not created equal in any sense.  For any human trait - height, strength, speed, intelligence - people fall along the bell curve.  If you are genetically short, weak, and slow, you will never make it in the NBA, no matter how hard you work.  If you are born with an IQ of 60, you will never be a doctor, no matter how hard you study.

That said, for two people who start out roughly equal, the hard-working person will be more successful than the lazy person, but even basic personality traits such as work ethic are influenced by your genes, so luck plays a role there as well.  (check out this article for an example: http://www.time.com/time/health/article/...

When Jefferson said "All men are created equal" he was talking about equal rights in the political sense.

  2. All men are not created equal, but it's a nice thing to say. Some are more violence prone, some are smarter....not exactly EQUAL.

  3. All men are created equal.  What one man can do, another can do.  Some may have different talents, but one can do if he/she has the will to do.

    James

  4. all men are created equal. period.

no man is a better man than any other. but...as you said...it's up to them from that point on.

it isnt our abilities that define who we are...its our choices.

  5. all men are created equal in a spiritual sense. we are all equal in the eyes of god. that being said in the physical world we are obviously not equal. a man in a wheel chair will not be able to do a back flip.. some people have just had some bad luck.
