Do you take thumbs downs seriously?

What's your sign and do you get irritated by thumbs downs?

Don't you just hate how we don't even get to know who does it either?

I sometimes just get this urge to edit my answer and just yell for no reason about thumbs downers, I don't know why they do it.

I don't even bother with thumbs downing or ups because it really is no big deal but it just gets me...urgh. lol.

Also, have you ever been blocked? I just realized I've been blocked by someone I don't even know...?

Also I hate how people just suddenly block you because of your answer or something...that didn't even mean to offend anyone and you don't even know the person yet they block you?

I mean...wtf.

Oh my goodness,thumbs down are given by about 20 percent of the time innocently.you see a comment you don't agree with fine,but the other 80 are usually by people that don't like you or don't like what you stand for,and some are even friends of the people that don't like you.I have a way of finding out who they are,i just get them back.because you know the people that like you wouldn't do it,so it has to be some that have attacked you before.Don't worry about it,everyone will not love you,just remember,say to yourself,"now who would give me thumbs down and i  didn't d=say anything mean or negative,you will come up with a guess,and you will realize who their friends are too.

I have never been blocked,people always want answers.

so don't let it,it turns them on. whatever

I feel the same way....I always say to myself that TDs don't matter, and that they are just stupid..especially when the trolls are the ones doing it. It still bothers me though. It's like a personal attack...maybe that's why they get so much satisfaction out of doing it. I often like to rant about it too, because it just makes me feel better to get it out of my system.

Yes, I have been blocked by someone I don't know before..I don't take that as personally though, for some reason.

Edit: Yeah...I know what you mean. These people don't even know us, and yet they're making these stupid judgments and trying to turn everyone against us....It is stupid...I wouldn't say that blocking is necessarily immature in itself, but blocking without a valid reason is.

I used to feel terrible about them! Until Rach explained to me that they were only Trolls. Then, the intensity of them lowered. I still feel a little bad about them, but eh, not so much anymore.

Here in Horoscopes, thumbs downs mean something else. I always see Queen Rach's answers get TD's and she always kicks my *** when it comes to quality of answers. One reason I think they give her TD's is because they're too stupid to comprehend what she's saying. Another would be because she's blacklisted in the eyes of the trolls and she's not the only one labeled as such. Shady Butterscotch, Whisper, Veggie and Emmie, too.

Here are things I've always thought about the thumbs:

When I get a thumbs down, I don't get offended. I look at the other people who get a TD in the question and associate myself with them. My contacts and I occasionally get at least 2 TD's each. I view the TD's given to me in questions like those as the trolls saying that I belong in that group. To the trolls: Thank you.

I then look at my thumbs ups. It's sometimes obvious who gave them to me and I know that it's obvious to them that I gave them thumbs ups, too. Those people are the ones whose opinion matter to me the most. They're the reason why I put extra creativity in my answers and why I don't hesitate to speak from the heart when it comes to serious answers.

I haven't been blocked, but "thumbs downs" don't make me angry. Sometimes they perplex me, especially when my comment was a non-opinion or fact, but they don't really bother me.

In terms of thumbs down, I'll admit that it does annoy me, but only if there's no logical reason.  For instance, if the question is, "What's your favorite color", and I say, "turquoise", what am I getting a thumbs down for?  It's hardly an offensive answer.

As for being blocked, I've been blocked by people in the Gender and Women's Studies board, but mainly because I called them out on their c**p and I guess they're too sensitive.

No, I don't take the thumbs seriously..only the TUs count, and YA intended the thumbs as a voting mechanism. Let them enjoy their little clicks...it doesn't do much.

I have been blocked, and I have blocked. I usually block flakes who act all innocent victim but post rabid attack c**p on others thread, (such as "space oddity/Isabelle" on this thread: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=...

,people who cut and paste information without sourcing it, people who have several accounts, answer their own questions and give themselves BA *ahem*, or super dramatic people who are always asking for attention instead of contributing positively to the knowledge pool.

lol ... I was actually wondering the same thing. It seems to bother a lot of people so personally when they get a thumbs down. It doesn't bother me at all, actually... because people give downs for a billion stupid reasons. I expect people not to like what I say half the time anyway, and I certainly don't expect people to be clever enough to give a thumbs up to an answer that is fair but one that they disagree with.

It's unfortunate, but there you have it.

I care more that my frigging question was deleted when I dared people to believe in astrology. That pissed me off. It just shows people are so scared of the truth.

Not really at first.......but after a while they make me angry on top of all the completely unnecessary violations.

I give good info sometimes and not related to astro and still get thumbs down !!

I used to go into the language section and give my best..and still got thumb downs for a language I know !!!!

It is more all the bogus violations which get to me now..

I know am set up by a group of people. Call it "gang reported".

Actually most of the TD do not come from "outside" at all but from people INSIDE astrology......... Some want to receive some kind of no 1 place...Bit like beauty pageants ..They need the attention and approval at all need.

I agree with all the answers here. Thumbs down means that you are getting attention in this section and whoever is giving them, doesn't like that attention.

I think Isabelle has a good point in her answer . I was just blocked for no apparent reason, don't know the lady, never said anything bad to her and I just tried to answer her question out of the blue, and Bingo. Can't view. Oh well.

Needless to say, I blocked her for no reason also. That is fair and square I think.

I'm a capricorn, i dont care about TD, but yeah, it annoys me because i dont know whoo the h**l did it!!
