Yes . What's wrong talking to a geek. As long as they are good to me we can be friends.

i consider myself a nerd, so ill fill you in on some definitions..

nerd- intersted and appreciates academic smarts (math, science, history, computers, etc)

geek-sillyness, cares about things like final fantasy video game, star trek...

so sure i guess i would talk to a geek.. they are a person and id never be rude to anyone no matter who they were.

but being the nerd i am.. i felt like pointing out the difference...

Of course I talked to them.  Unfortunatly though I never went out of my way to actually establish a friendship with them, which is a big difference.  I wish I would have though because some of my high school classmates I'm thinking of were interesting characters!

I try to be nice to everyone.  I figured out that people who are mean to others do it because they feel insecure about themselves. What makes a pretty girl need to be mean to geeky ones?  There is no point.  I had a girlfriend I dropped just because she was mean to people who were not popular.

People who are not nice to me are not part of my life.

I was one of those geeks - now it's paid off with a great job and I get to laugh at all those 'cool' folk from school who are now miserable.

Yeah, I used to be one, so I try my best to respect them and help them feel like normal people. They are really no different from anyone else.

i hate seeing people make fun of geeks in school. it makes them feel really isolated from everybody else. i talk to everybody every chance i get because just because they are a little nerdy doesnt mean they deserve to be treated that way.

All of us are geeks in our own ways.  If you shun someone because of their clothes or looks, you are shallow and pathetic.

The answer is yes because I was a geek.

You don't need to treat them as though they are charity case.  Sure it may bother us the way people react to us but I'm not ashamed to be a geek.  That is who I am after all.
