  1. Are you going to start work the very week you arrive in the new state? If not, you could be in trouble. $2000 isn't a lot to work with unless you are going somewhere where the cost of living is considered not-expensive.

    When you get an apartment, you have to pay the first and last month's rent. In a big city you probably won't find anything under $400 a month, so that's $800 right there. Then you have to set money aside to pay any other bills that aren't covered by your apartment (such as heat or hot water.)

    Groceries won't cost you a whole lot if you shop wisely.

    You have to set aside money for gas. Figure out how much traveling you will be doing each day.

    There's a lot to consider! Just try to pay in cash whenever possible. Credit cards are a dead end street.


  2. No you would have to think about getting more money. Gas for your car, food for yourself, and hotels.
