I will have to work full time and go to school full time since I have bills. I just can't decide if it's worth me paying $30,000 for school since I won't graduate till I am 35. That' s only 30 years of using my degree. Or do I just work and save money?

  1. There is No limitation For Learning except Death and Be sure That It makes money For you.

  2. No, I started uni at 27 and it was awsome - You will get a better job when u graduate.  ONLY 30 years of using your degree! That's 30 years of the rest of your life.  Don't live for when you retire 30 years from now, do what you want to do now

  3. I say go for it.  I am a non-traditional student also.  Furthermore, with the way social security is going, we won't be able to retire anyway.

  4. It's never too late to get an education.  I have a client whose wife earned her BA when she was 52 and got her Masters at 55.  I totally applaud her for that.

By the way, you have a very optimistic approach to retirement - are you sure you can live on your savings from 65 to 90+ ?  In case you didn't know, by the time you are retirement age, there probably won't be anymore Social Security and if you don't have a degree, then your chances of keeping a high paying, low labor job after 50 begin to decline.

Nobody wants to do hard labor in their golden years - get the education!

  5. you are never too old to learn, if it is what you want do it.

  6. I start a degree course in August and I will be 40 in June.

I already have a good job, but we,re thinking of emigrating to Australia and this is just so that I have more & better options when it comes to employment over there.

    You go for it...!

Dont let anyone tell you different. Its never too late to better yourself.

  7. Several of my professors have mentioned that they prefer having older students because they tend to be more focused and know for a fact that this is something they want....they feel that the older students are more committed. You are never to old for school.
