  1. We're talking about something that happens once a year in only one part of the world for typically only fractions of an hour. . . I honestly doubt it has a noticeable impact.

If anyone tries to stop this tiny little celebration, I'm going to get them to make sure we're holding the developing world accountable for the *much* larger pollution source it is.

  2. Kyoto is so mixed up and confused that they'd probably try, lol!  Maybe you should ask for permission to use fireworks from Mr. Gore.  He might make you purchase some carbon credits first.

  3. Only once a year is a pretty poor excuse for raping Mother Earth.

  4. no not in the least!!!!

  5. It may or may not contribute to global warming.  Fireworks do leave particulates in the air for at least 24 hours after the event, which poses a health risk to some that are predisposed (like people with asthma).  In addition, all those chemicals and metals, that are found in the particulates, eventually settle on the ground and in the water. So, mainstream fireworks are not very good for the environment as whole.

Although,  there are people, including Disney, who are researching alternatives.  Some are already producing greener fireworks; they are just more expensive and not as easily available.

  6. That is extreme to even assume.

Don't get obssessed with global warming.  Enjoy life.

  7. Yes, and I vote to make the 4th oh July a 10 day holiday and move it to January so the warming will be in the winter.

  8. Nope, not at all.

And Bush never signed the Kyoto protocol, meaning the U.S. probably isn't affected by it...

  9. not at all.....

and yes i do believe that global warming is REAL.

  10. absolutley not

    1) global warming is NATURAL! yes we are contribuiting, but we are only pushing it up one degree, its actually cooler that it ever was.

    2) im not saying global warming dosnt exist, cause it totally does, but its 1/2 a news hype

    3) if you are worried that fireworks are contributing to Global Warming, plant a tree or make a garden. seriously.

  11. No. And no.

  12. yes but not by enough to matter.

no. Kyoto only obliges country's to make overall greenhouse gas targets so unless the goverment chose to ban them so that it could make its targets it wont make any difference.

  13. No- not at all. Apparently, everything we make and do causes global warming which just goes to show that they have no understanding of it. Let's set off as much fireworks as we can!

  14. It's only once a year...

  15. ofcourse yeahh

  16. I think it will, but only a fraction compared to what is produced.

If you accept the protocol and that is a no no then it does restrict the use of fireworks.

If that is in the the protocol, it just reinforces my belief it is a lot of hot air.

The fires in California would be pumping out more than all of the fireworks let off nation wide.

  17. Global warming is a natural thing, and scientist have found the the average temperature of earth goes up every few thousand years.

However fireworks do have chemicals in the that will add CO2 into the air witch isnt good for the enviroment.

You should still be allowed to celebrate, i mean its only 1 night a year.

  18. I only use organically grown cannon balls. If there duds I make a salad and throw it into the air.

  19. I hope so, I support global warming, this is natures way of melting the ice so we can drill for oil more cheaply. I cant wait.

  20. No.fireworks has noting to do with global warming.....we should plant trees at personal level to fight with global warming.

  21. Not global warming, but warming of the heart. There is nothing today that compares to hearing the 1812 Overture, with large explosions from cannons that fire works over the Charles River on July 4, independence day.

The government would not dare take this celebration away, because almost all the people who attend this are patriots at heart when the fireworks accompanied by the Boston Pops.

  22. If they do contribute can we blame the Chinese?  Aren't they the ones that started this whole fireworks thing anyway?  Finally, something we didn't create.
