  1. heck yes

  2. I think that they're expecting like 5 or 10 dollars from every person.  500 dollars is a lot of money and who knows, you might need some of that money later.  I think giving 100 would be more than generous.

its amazing that you would be willing to give so much money to a good cause like that.

  3. I disagree with the rest. If you have $750 per month coming in, in addition to what you are earning from your job, then I don't see a problem. It isn't like you are giving away your life's savings. The fact that you are young is a plus, you will have many years to earn more.

  4. well im 15 as well

in my opinion yes that is a lot of money since you are working for some or all of that $3k you may possibly donate the whole $500 but more or less hopefully your mother will agree to this

if she dosent hopefully she knows whats best

first you. then others. thats my opinion

yes helping others is a great thing

but in my opinion in your case $3000 in bank and using about $500 of that. that is a lot

hopefully if you used less it would be put into better use for the greater good of mankind when you grow older. if you do that is. and you use it wisely.

last thing on my mind is. go ahead and do what you want with the money wisely. just be sure its not too much. and also think about the state of your well being and family. since your father died and everything. sorry about him.

don't know you. but i will pray for him and you guys. everyone else as well in this world. on occasion if i myself remember.

good luck in life now! ♥ :)

  5. I think it's nice that you want to do that but I do think it's a bit much. Why don't you donate what the church expects you to tithe which is 10% of your income. In your case this would be $300 and I think that's plenty.

  6. $50 is enough because the IRS in general starts to question more than 600 per year for most people.

Your mother would tack that on to her yearly taxes in addition to the weekly donation that you give.

But if you give 500, then that's all you should give for the rest of the year.  If your charitable donations reach over 1000 you are more at risk for an IRS audit.

Where are these starving children?  On the african continent?  If yes, then keep in mind that Oprah has donated millions of dollars to them already and still they have basic water and rice.

You have to ask yourself, how can millions of dollars just be paying for water and rice?  It's because of the middle men who steal most of the money for themselves.  There is no one there to police the money to make sure that 100% of it goes into the mouths of starving children!   It's a terrible huge scam in most areas that plays off of our wanting to give and help.

To be there in africa is a huge risk to yourself unless you have security people with you, so the bottom line is we can't help them.  (not trying to sound like a bad person, just someone who understands facts and reality)

Our church has a large wooden box for all the parishioners to put food into.   Your church should do the same.  You should be able to buy 3 to 5 items for a few dollars, then build it up from there.

Take the items to your church and then the church can distribute the items to the families. That way you can know for sure that your money is well spent.

Good luck with your decision, but in my opinion, i would go help these starving children myself by buying the food for them.
