  1. Yes in this particular case for these two.

Their lives are ruined and at their ages when they come out it wont be a picnic.

I hope they havent stashed any monies away in Panama and if they have can the insurance companies recover the monies.

  2. I think the punishment fits the crime.

What's worse than the prison sentence is the fact that even if her sons forgive her for lying, their relationship with her will never be as it was (if there was any love in the family at all).

  3. na, she should have got 20 years,

6 years? she'll be out in 3, they should

    have threw the key away.

  4. Ultimately the cost of all forms of fraud are passed on to already financially hard pressed consumers and or taxpayers.

In frauds of this scale sentences should be severe.

However unlike most fraud cases there is some hope that some of the monies will be recovered, and it has provided us with some entertainment so 6 years does seem enough.

  5. Hello Mrs S-the victims here were the big Insurance Company and most of all their children who must have gone through h**l thinking their parents had drowned-not enough years considering they may get early release!

Would say sentence longer than for a rapist because it was 'A Big Insurance Company' and not an ordinary citizen!!

  6. Its enough for fraud, but they should have got a life sentence for the way they treated their sons

  7. well when you consider the lives these evil greedy b******s put at risk searching for him then they should have been sentenced to twenty years

  8. That sounds about right. You need to deter major fraud like that.

Usually I think jail is best for people that hurt others or damage property. No-one was actually hurt by that fraud. Although it was a massive cost to investigate and prosecute. Maybe the controls on getting insurance money should be improved.

  9. it is too much when you consider that some rapists only get 2 years or less
