  2. im having my baby girl next month and my son 8 and a half.

he has been my only child all that time and its bound to be difficault for him but ive been involving him as much as possible and he even talks to my belly which is cute!

its quite a big age gap but im not worried about that.

  3. No it's cool. The kid would have a much older brother to protect and advise them. Just old enough for him to know better, but not too old that the kids were too distant =)

  4. no i think its fine i am due a baby on july 15 and my son was eight in january  so he will be eight and a half , he is doting on me and really looking foward to the baby . i was a little worried about the age gap to start with but now i couldn't be happier and neither could my son he is looking forward to becoming a big brother .

  5. If you still feel young enough, are in a comitted relationship and this is what you really want then you should go for it!!!!

  6. I have three fantastic daughters 16years,7years and 16months and another child on the way so in answer to your question the gap worked well for us

  7. no its great, my b/f is 21 and he has 3 older brothers ages 26,30 and 31!, so thats 10years between them and he really looks after my b/f there such great friends and him and the bro whos 30 used to baby sit him and have helped him along the way growing up etc.

    xx

  8. No!! Just go for it and have lots of fun trying!!!!

  9. My brother and sister are 8 yrs older than i am and though sometimes it sucks, I love it b/c they take care of me and i grew up fast and was taught alot by them.

  10. no thats fine, it means your baby will have a big brother to look out for them!

  11. No my mom and her brother are 14 years apart. My husband and his sister are 7 years apart. So no go ahead and have another one if you want!!

  12. there are always advantages and disadvantages... but i think its a nice age gap because the older child will be past petty jealousies and will genuinely enjoy and protect the baby.

  13. my first two are 22yrs and 19yrs.  my third daughter is 15mo old and had it lived, i would've had another at the end of this year (20mo gap).

  14. there was an 8 year age gap between my children its fine , why should it make any difference .

  15. Hi my brother is 8 years older than me, however I also have another brother who is 10 year older so its like only nearly 3 years between them and loads between me.

Its the same with my hubby his mum had 2 boys my hubby first then his bro after 3 years then his sister 9 years later, so really it just depends on the situation.

I think because I am a girl its different than if I was a boy, when your a young girl and you have older brothers they dont want to do girly stuff lol,

But if you only have 1 child already and then you have another one then it will be fine as they are more likely to bond and get one rather than threes a crowed sort of thing.

  16. Nope... actually it works out pretty good.. I have 4 boys.. ages 14, 9, 4, and 3.. and I am expecting twins in the next month or so... The age difference doesn't matter... They love the idea of having a sibling once they get used to it..

    ♥ Best wishes ♥

  17. Not at all.  My youngest sister is 9 years younger than me and it meant that I wasn't jealous about her arrival, and I was able to help out with her.  Also, I think she matured earlier than her school friends as she was around older siblings.

  18. no, would be someone who ure younger child could really look up to, by the time ure first child is 18 then ure second will be 10 so they have a big brother who they can talk to about things and who can look after them, and if anything happened to you then he really has someone who can look after them

  19. No I dont think so at all. I have 2 sisters, 11 and 15 years older than me, and although we arent as close as we may have been if I were closer in age to them, we have always got on well :)

  20. not at all!

i am 8 years older than my sisters and we get along great!

i was very helpful to my mother at that age too.

your son will be old enough to know what's right and wrong in accordance to the baby too.

    good luck!

  21. Not at all! I plan that to roughly be the age gap between the child I'm currently pregnant with and my next child :] It's all down to personal circumstances and when you feel is the best time to have another.

  22. Not at all sweetheart! My husband is 10 years different then his older sister, and my aunt just found out she is pregnant again, and her son is 7 right now. The siblings won't have much in common, but an older child is less likely to be rough with a newborn. Just make sure you still spend plenty of time with your oldest child when the baby comes, it wouldn't do to create feelings of jealousy in a child whose never had to share mommy before!

  23. Nah. Go for it hun. Good Luck

  24. No. On the contrary, your children will most likely get along better if they aren't close in age. My brother and I always argued because we were only a year apart. Good luck!

  25. no my eldest is 22 now and my next daughter down is only just ten years old, my eldest loved her sister from the word go she went to as many scans as she could and wanted to be involved in any baby buying, it helped as there was never a question of jealousy just excitement! and was on hand and wanted to do everything she could, my eldest has now had a baby of her own and is so confident it makes me proud, all in all she has three younger siblings and they think its great having a big big sister

  26. If you are young enough to have another baby, its not a bad thing. Theres an 8 yr age gap btwn my sister and I , and I got to know her really well when I hit like 16 and we could relate to eachother. But it was difficult when I was younger bc I wanted someone to play with. If you can provide playmates for the new baby, it helps with an age gap like that. But then again, some children with no siblings wind up maturing faster bc they hang out with their parents and other adults. My son is 2 1/2 but he talks like hes 4. I kinda think thats bc he lives with my husband, myself and our room mate, who is my age, and is always surrounded by adult conversation and mannerism. But he does ask to play with kids sometimes and I feel bad bc we moved away from all my neices and nephews. I wont do the mother group things like some moms do bc I find them to be catty and dumb, so I find other ways for him to associate with kids his age. Its a tough call over all, and has its pros and cons, but children are a blessing either way, so Good Luck with your choice!!

  27. So what? I am 21, I have a 19 year old sister a 14 year and a 5 year old sister (from my dads new relationship.

So what? It doesn't matter at all.  They'll look after each other.  It's a nice age gap.  Not uncommon AT all

  28. My cousin had a baby in December and her little girl will be 8 next month (I know she is a little younger) but she absolutely loves being a big sister! She helps her mummy wash, feed and play with the baby. The key thing to remember with older children is even though they can do a lot more for themselves, they still need their mummy. You just need to remember to share the attention.

  29. totally fine!

  30. i have 2 boys ages 8 and 9 and i am pregnant with my 3rd and they are so excited ! so no i do not think 8 years is too much of a gap ...they will share your excitement.. it is so nice........

  31. no, its not.  there is no rule as to how far apart your children need to be.

think of it this way, your new baby is going to have an older sibling who will look out for him as much as you do.
