Do you think A BLUE kitchen would look good?

My Family just looked at some paint samples because we're planning on painting the house. When the kitchen came up I mentioned a blue color. Would that look ok considering we have white appliances and very dark cabinets?

It depends on the blue that you want, a very light one would work with the dark wood but not the one of the picture that I'm sending you , consider a pale blue you could add dark tea and these dishes

Trust me go with neutral colors!  We bought a house with red cabinets and we are going to put up wood cabinets for good resale value!  Good luck

I did mine in blue and white with wood-looking tiles. Here;s the link to a pic. (In hindsight, I would've preferred a darker floor, and to make the entire cupboard system blue, while keeping the trim and walls and ceiling white.)

We painted the living room in blue.  It got dark and depressing, so we had to paint it.

In a decorator's world, blue of any color in a kitchen is considered very unappetizing.  That's just the way it is.

Blue can be a tricky color especially in a kitchen.  If it is the color that you want to try anyway, get several paint sample cards from your paint store of the shade of blue (Williams-burg or slate seems best with dark cabinets) you are thinking of.  Tape together a big enough swatch and tape on cabinet door and over a period of a couple of days you will see if you think you would like it long term.  Sage or loden green, deep beige, and chili pepper are some colors that go well with dark cabinets.

Inmy opinion, I wouldn't like blue for a kitchen. I would go with a cream or beige colrs. In that section of colors.
