Do you think he can lead the packers to the Playoffs or even the Super Bowl? I think they made a huge mistake letting Favre go.

  1. not this year. the nfc is better than they were last year

  2. I'm not sure what to expect out of Rodgers. The last time this guy started a football game (before last night) was the 2004 Holiday Bowl when he was with Cal in college. He hasn't played much at all in the NFL, so I'd say that this would be a disappointing year. It's possible that they could get to the playoffs, but the Super Bowl is a bit of a reach. I also thought it was a mistake for them to let Brett go, but they felt it was time to start Aaron.

  3. Well first off I am a Pittsburgh fan so i am not biased in this but I would say that GB will win the division this year the only competition is Minnesota and let me list the reasons why.

1 QB is terrible, hence why they wanted to get favre

2 A.P. is an electrifying back but he seems to be fragile and erratic at times

3 GB is a complete team on offense and defense

So to answer the actual question I would say he will be just fine top 5 qb in the league I would say.  Unknown but amazing receiving corps and Ryan Grant is very promising.  Plus the defense is pretty good which will take away the feelin that if they win or lose its all on his shoulders.

  4. Yes, no doubt about it.  If not this year, soon.  It's RoDgers, BTW.  : )

latti101: Don't even call yourself a Packer fan.

  5. If you mean wash the ugly stain of Brett Favre's antics away, I doubt it. No one can follow that dog and pony show successfully. I do think that Rodgers will show himself to be a competent Quarterback and the Packers will be contenders again in a few season. As for the Super Bowl, they have good management and good coaches, so there's no reason, especially in the Talent Deprived NFC North they can't make a run for it in a few years.

  6. The jury is still out..Remember Don Majkowski? He was the starter to take us to the promised land, but he was injury prone, and a young man with an impossible sounding name was waiting in the wings...and the rest is history!

The same thing may happen to Rodgers. He's injury-prone,too,and there are two young QB's,Brian Brohm & Matt Flynn who are waiting in the wings to possibly become the next great quarterback of the Green Bay Packers! It happened to Brett Favre-it could happen to Brohm and/or Flynn!

  7. yah he will do pretty good dont expect a hall of famer but he will be good not better than brett farve he will be a solid player , yah they go to the playoffs just not far

  8. no

  9. they can easily beat the bears and the lions, now its just those pesky vikings that stand in their way, and I believe they can beat them as well.

  10. yes but it will take him 3-5 games before he breaks out. remember who's shoes he is filling...it isnt easy....

  11. Give him time. He performed well against the Bengals.

With the Brett fiasco, I've blamed the team from the beginning. I think they forced Brett to retire by making him choose what he wanted to do too quickly. But when Brett couldn't let go of the whole thing, it was obvious that the relationship couldn't be saved.

Brett was either going to go to Minnesota and play GB twice a year, go to Tampa and play GB once a year(Battle of the Bays) or go to the Jets and still get to wear green.

It worked out in my opinion.

But with Aaron..maybe not this year. I'll say wild card playoffs. Not the Super Bowl, though. Give him 2-3 years. I think he'll come on like Eli did.

  12. First step for Rogers is whether he can take them team to the playoffs. Last season when Favre got injured in the playoffs against Dallas in the final quarters, Rogers looked pretty darn good. He also looked good in his first preseason game.

Only time will tell. He's been studying Favre for the better part of three years now. He looks ready.

  13. Aaron Rogers shows a lot of potential, but I think it is extremely unfair to assume the Pack will make the championship game this year. I think we expect too much too soon from young QB's. Sometimes it takes a season or two until someone shows their true talent and ability.

I think the Favre situation was a lot of mistakes on both his end as well as the Packers organization. I am just tired of hearing about it.

  14. As a packers fan I hate to say it but "THE PACKERS WILL NEVER WIN THE SUPER BOWL AGAIN"

They traded away the greatest quarterback of all time, who also happens to be on this years cover of Madden in his old uniform. (Madden Curse)

    THE PACKERS ARE CURSED!

The Arron Rodgers Era was doomed even before it began.
