I hope so.  We are a democracy -- or, at least I thought so.  If we cannot help our friends -- another democratic nation, then what happens to OUR own democracy?  Can we only fight for oil?  I, for one, will really question the democratic philosophy of this country.  Let us help our friends and show the might of love for one another.

  3.    The U.S. is already in. A day ago or something Russian peacekeepers found bodies of Afro-Americ war instructors who was fighting for Georgians.

    We will continue to provide military aid and assistance.  If, however Russian troops attack US troops, that could cause a serious international incident.  So lets hope that doesn't happen.

    If, however, other countries get involve and join Russian forces for dominance, like Iran, then that's a whole new chapter in the book on WWIII.    

  5. The only way that would happen is if Russia acted aggressively toward some of the other breakaway countries like Ukraine. Turkey has a part in this too as they are an ally of Georgia and right on their border. Turkey has the 2nd largest standing army in NATO after the US and is no pushover. I don't think Turkey would stand for Russian troops on their border and I don't think Russia wants to test that.

  6. President Bush has rightfully only talked strong against the Russian invasion of Georgia. After all, this is no small country like Iraq and they do indeed have a lot of WMD's to contend with should conflict between them and the U.S. break out. Let's hope and pray that the conflict will remain just between the two countries and go no further. Otherwise, lookout World War III and the possible end of life as we now know it...

  7. Heard its a localized war only keeping the war between those two country's. Thats why we haven't jumped in yet. If we do go to war with Russia prepare for a draft and the beginning of WWIII/Coldwar together...

    It will be all out disaster. Worst scenario, Nukes will be fly'n everywhere.

    Point: USA will not help Georgia because of that....

  8. Lets hope not but as my German husband says it's going to get a lot uglier before it's over.
