  1. i do believe he is very well rounded and has a very good chance at becoming the middle and lightheavy weight champion, but i believe if he could drop to welterweight Georges St-Pierre could give him a run for his money.

  2. Yes, he is. He rules the middleweight division. His venture into the light heavyweight has been a success so far. He has beaten everyone thrown in his path. He finishes fights. He has yet to be tested. All of his fights are entertaining. He can end fights by KO or submission. He pretty much has wiped out the middleweight division. He is well respected and extremely humble. If you don't believe me, then you haven't followed MMA much.

  3. Yes. He's fought and beat the best in his division.  I don't really count what he did to Irvin, because that was really just an exhibition match, although I think he could beat ALMOST  every 205 pounder in the UFC. There are those who swear Fedor is God, but I don't see it. Someone is going to catch him eventually.

  4. Anderson Silva is an amazing fighter. Absolutely incredible. Devastating striking, ridiculous clinch work, and a surprisingly slick ground game. At 185 pounds, I can't think of anyone that could give him a bit of competition, with the exception of maybe Cung Le.

Having said all that, do I believe he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world today? No. Why? Two words. Fedor Emelianenko.

This is where a lot of people are going to start commenting, saying things like, "Fedor hasn't proven himself," or, "Yea right, Fedor hasn't beaten anyone worth while, Anderson Silva has taken out an entire division." These comments are completely uninformed and ridiculous. Let's take a look at some of the world class fighters Fedor has taken out.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Current UFC heavyweight champion. Fedor has beaten him. TWICE.

    Ricardo Arona

    Renato Sobral

    Kazuyuki Fujita

Kevin Randleman. After suffering the single most vicious slam in the history of MMA, Fedor promptly finished the fight via submission.

    Gary Goodridge

Semmy Schilt. The 6'11" world class K-1 kick boxer.

Mark Coleman. A man the UFC invited back recently. Twice defeated by Fedor via arm bar.

Mirko Filipovic. Cro-cop, one of the most feared strikers in the world.

Mark Hunt. Physically much larger. Another K-1 kick boxer. Finished in the first round.

TIM SYLVIA. Former two time UFC heavyweight champion. Eight inches taller, forty plus pounds heavier. Destroyed in just 36 seconds of the very first round.

So what are some possible arguments? Are all of these fighters washed up? Because Fedor defeated all of these fighters in their prime. Is Tim Sylvia washed up? If he is, explain to me how Randy Couture stands a chance against Fedor. Fedor dispatched of Tim Sylvia in 36 seconds, it took Randy 25 minutes, a full five rounds, and he never stopped Tim Sylvia.

I mean, I know people want to hate, and that's fine, but you can't ignore the facts. I love Anderson Silva. In fact, I'm a bigger Anderson Silva fan than I am a Fedor fan, but Fedor is an absolute beast. His record shows how dangerous he really is. He crushes every opponent he faces.. No one has come close to finishing him. He's dispatched everyone convincingly. If that wasn't enough, almost every fighter he's faced, with the exception of Matt Lindland, has been much physically larger than Fedor. Hong Mon Choi anyone? 7'2". Fedor destroyed him. That's a full foot and two inch height advantage, and god knows how many pounds, and Fedor still dominated. Anderson Silva cuts weight to make 185 lbs. and although he doesn't appear exceptionally large, he is a very tall, very lean middleweight. He hasn't faced the same disadvantages Fedor has.

So do I believe Anderson Silva is pound for pound the best? No. Number two for sure though. Without a doubt.

  5. Yes at the moment, why well its already been said .

    Best wishes :)***

  6. That's a difficult question to answer. There are so many great fighters out there. There is no dought that he is at the top of the game.

  7. in his sport yes gut i think if he took it to the streets then no

  8. He is close but I have to give it to BJ Penn for best pound for pound fighter.  The guy literally has no weaknesses he has great stand-up as shown against Sherk & GSP and need I even say anything about his ground game and his takedown defense is unmatched.  He did the splits to prevent a takedown from Matt Hughes and GSP couldn't keep him down to save his life and he has fought as high as 205 against Lyoto Machida and Machida couldn't finish him even though BJ is a natural 155, but I can certainly see why someone would say Silva is the best pound for pound though but I just think BJ is just a little bit better pound for pound.

Just to add also Silva has absolutly dominated the middleweight division but that division is also one of the weakest in the UFC if not the weakest.  Silva dominated Franklin and Franklin can pretty much dominate everyone else in the division and Patrick Cote is possible the next in line for a shot if not him then its Okami so this should tell you something.
