  1. arrogant

  2. I've seen him in matches and interviews were he has acted very arrogant, and my best friend and I have had conversations about Roddick many times before while we were playing tennis and honestly we agree that he is a bit of an a*****e. But with that said I do think he is also very funny, particularly in his post game interviews. I love when he was told he was better in his interviews than the way he played that particular game... he replied "No Shitt"....He has a way of being arrogantly charming thats the way I would ultimately describe him.

  3. He's a little bit of all of those things sometimes, but I think generally he's a good guy.  He seems to get along well with most of the other players, and in post match interviews he's always funny and self-deprecating, and never arrogant.

  4. I think that fans have a warped perspective about their favorite players or the top players in any sport. People think Roddick is arrogant ? Why? Because he won't take c**p from the horde of asinine reporters that converge like vultures in the interview room. I didn't know that being a professional tennis player meant you were forced to endure, especially after a loss, endless questions that pick apart your game, your training, your mental state, etc. I applaud Lleyton Hewitt for NOT complying with those horrid interviews and not playing ATP matches and oh right, I forgot that the ATP is GOD so they fined him $10,000.  Every athlete has a very different way of expressing their disappointment, frustration, or irritation. I happen to like Roddick and Hewitt a great deal. Anyone who believes that Federer, Nadal, Borg, ....the more reserved personalities with the media, were or are without some level of arrogance is being delibreately naive.  The problem here is the use of the word arrogance; arrogance is the same as having an enormous ego. You cannot, repeat CANNOT, become a top 3 player in the world and not deep down inside believe that you are great and can beat anyone when you are playing at the top of your game. Borg & Nadal are 2 of my absolute favorite players, but I am not wearing rose colored glasses. Yeah, right, world champions in any sport really believe things like "Well there are a lot of great players I still have to come up against, anyone can win" . Sounds like a publicist's dream not reality or human nature at the level these guys are at.

  5. I don't find him charming or funny. He reminds me of a spoiled and bratty frat boy. I can't stand him.

  6. He is charming, funny but also arrogant.

  7. How could anyone think andy roddick is arrogant. He is very funny. I don't find him charming, but girls might. Certainly not pretentious. He's also very witty. Like when he said about his recent victory over Federer, "I came into this match with the confidence knowing that no one has ever beaten me 15 times in a row".

  8. he is not arrogant and pretentious!!!!!! what makes you think that??

he's totally charming and sooo funny, have you seen a video, it's on youtube now, espn made it ?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrlTWE9sS...

  9. yeah he certainly can be all those things on the flip side..

  10. charming funny gorgeous... yeah hes awesome. def brings some life 2 the game!

  11. yes, he looks charming and funny.... everyone love his face.. young looks...
