Question:

Do you think Antonio Cromartie will be on the Chargers after his contract expires after the 2010 season?

It might be too early to ask but he is already one of the best corners in the league and will ask for a HUGE contract after his current one expires. Plus the Chargers drafted another cornerback in the first round this year. So I am doubting that Cromartie will stay on the Chargers when his contract expires in 2011.

  1. I doubt it.  He is one of the rising stars in the NFL and the Chargers have quite a few stars.  They will not be able to afford all of this talent and will have to give some up to free agency.  They have a superstar a quite a few positions-

-RB- Tomlinson- they will want him to stick around as long as he produces and that means he will be getting PAID

-QB- Rivers- if he continues to guide the Bolts in the right direction, he will be in line to get an extention...more important than CB

-TE- Gates- One of the main targets, especially in the red zone.  Will want him to stay with the team for many more years and would pay him the $ over Cromartie

    - Merriman- A main cog in the defense that will demand to be paid and is more valuable to the team than Cromartie

My point is there are many players that will be kept over Cromartie...simply b/c they mean more to the team- plus the Bolts picked up Cason in the first round this year and will be a replacement eventually for Cromartie when the team can no longer afford his services.

  2. I think he will. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets an extenstion during the offseason, early next year.

  3. No the chargers will be stubborn and release him after the press gets involved, and will be one of the top defensive free agents like Asante Samuel was

  4. Chargers will not let this guy get away.  He'll be sign after this season.

  5. No he will get signed by the Steelers

  6. I think he will stay a charger if the continues to produce, honestly they drafted another corner to be be jammers replacement.  I do see him getting a GIANT contract because i honestly dont see LT playing past 2010. He even said it, and they already have key players locked in Rivers, Gates, Merriman, so their main focus will be on Cromartie. There is no way he will leave the chargers unless they want him to leave.

  7. If the Chargers have any sense, they won't let his current contract expire. He'll have an enormous paycheck when he gets his extension in the next year or two.

  8. No.

He will take the money and run. The Chargers have too much tied up in Castillo, Merriman, Tomlinson, and Rivers. Cromartie was a surprise fro them and they did not forsee him being the player that he became. He will demand a huge price by the time he gets to free agency.

  9. yeah they'll give him a fat contract extension, im guessing mid season. regardless of his performance

  10. he is a great player but i think he will be in the free agents and get signed by the bears

  11. Yes.  They'll keep him, if they know what is good for them.
