Do you think Brisbane Lions are the real deal this year - or are Port shot?

Question

The Lions came back from 47 points down late in the third quarter to win. They kicked nine goal to one in a wet last quarter. How good was that????

Or am I getting a bit carried away? Port, one of last years grand finalists are now 0 - 4 & to throw away a lead like that, on their home ground, makes one wonder.

Still, I'm chuffed that the Lions are going so well ....

You're not getting carried away mate. i said a couple of weeks ago to a question the lions will play finals, that must of been a fantastic win to be part of, it will instill more belief that they can be down and still back and win.

i think the power have not recovered from the belting they got in last years granny, just my opinion, but they are not playing too good as a 0-4 record proves.

not only did they win, but won by 20pts!

but it is rather interesting; Port has a a very small history of letting the Lions back in.

You may remember last season at the Gabba where Port had the Lions by 37 points a 3/4 time.

In that final quarter, Brisbane DREW LEVEL until Port kicked another goal and then a behind to win by 7....I was at that game and trust me, the crowd was not happy at 3/4 time.

But Port dropped off and the Lions got back in, same with last night.

Lions are at 2-2 and port 0-4....and with port having the Saints next week in Melbourne (i think), it may very well be 0-5.

I think that last's year grand finalists will find it hard to finish in the 8....just like in 2005 after their 2004 win.

I think the Brisbane Lions are the real deal. They have some great players, and a ton of skill. They also have a great coach who knows what he is doing! *Interesting Question :-)

I am suprised aswell at how well they are playing.  I personally think Port are shot and the Lions do have a tough year ahead of them.  However, they can get into the finals I think if they start kicking more goals and taking more marks, also if Johnathan Brown stays healthy and fit.

Although, Brisbane's come back from 47 points down was a fantastic come from behind win!! i think they have to beat a few better sides than port before you can be saying there the real deal.

And as for PORT.... well they couldnt win a chook raffle with all the tickets!!! lol !!!  doesnt it just devastate ya!!!!  lmfao !!!

i think Port Power are gone, but it was a great come back and win by the Lions, and i think thet they will be in the 8

I don't know if Brisbane are the 'real deal' but the way they are going they look like being in the finals this year.

As to Port - being 0-4 is not healthy. They appear to have dropped back from last year - I don't know for what reason as their player group hasn't altered much.

A few team who were expected to figure prominently in the finals look like struggling this year - noteably WCE, Port, Fremantle & St Kilda.
