Do you think CNN and FOX news over do it with graphics?

I know it's a petty thing to complain about, but does anyone else get bothered by all the flashy graphics on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc? They've got American flags waving, presidential seals spinning around, glowing letters, little dots and lines that move around and red white and blue all over the place. When I've traveled out of the US, I've always noticed that the news channels in other countries are just basic news channels with basic graphics.

Why do American news channels insist on having all the graphics?

That's a good question.  My guess is that they do it just because they can.  I think it might be a bit of a status thing.  Since they have the money to have really fancy graphics then they add them.

Now if you're a conspiracy theorist, then the reason why they do it is so that your brain is so scrambled that you lose focus of the news and are more susceptible to subliminal messaging.
