I just wonder if they have a president, or why they don't have the death penalty, or why they are over taxed and overpriced with the merchandise they sell there?

  1. Really? That's what they teach you in school about Canada? I'd ask for a complete refund.

  2. I have never been to Canada, but have a good friend from there ,she is a very likable and lovable person..and she lived here in America for years, but loves her country very much, so I have only heard a good side of Canada. But I think they have a prime minister rather than a president. Whom she seems to respect.

  3. lol have you researched how many Americans are immigrating to Canada??

Canadian wages are higher so even with higher taxes the Canadians are no worse off than Americans

  4. Canada has a Prime Minister.  Not a President.  Can you imagine that some countries have both a Prime Minister and a President.  Now that would be confusing.

We do not want the death penalty, that is why no one has been executed since  1962.

I do not believe that we are over taxed.  At least our government has the right idea.  The more you make the more tax you pay.  Some low income families get their tax money back every year.

As for the merchandise, Our prices are slowly coming in line with our North American counterparts.  It is taking time, but with our strong dollar, prices have been getting much more reasonable.

  5. i live near canada and spend lots of time there is very nice place not that different from usa. They have a prime minister and until our dollar colapsed most things were cheaper there

  6. No Canada is a beautiful place to live. It is definatly not unorganized. But the justice here could be a bit better. In Canada we don't have a president, we have a prime minister.

  7. It is very organized, the Prime Minister is the "president" and actually, things aren't over priced at all. The current Canadian dollar is worth much more than the U.s. dollar these days.

As far as the death penalty, well most civilized people don't agree with capitol punishment.

  8. What a rediculous question. Of course Canada is a first world country. It has a standard of living as high, if not higher, than the majority of places in the United States.  Canada may be taxed more, but with that comes more and better public services. In an emergency, you can go to the hospital for FREE.

With regards to the death penalty, what does that have to do with being over taxed or organised. You may find it hard to beleive, but most developed countries abolished the death penalty many years ago and thank riddens. The United States is more like the third world in that it is one of the few western countries still doing it. The discussion on if that's right or not is not for this topic.

I find Canada more civilised as the crime rate is MUCH lower than the United States and there's more gun control there. Not every second person has a gun to out and kill people.

Canada has a much more liberal government system in general than most of the US and a kinder foreign policy which means Canada is more respected around the world than the US. Ever wonder why some Americans travelling abroad sometimes say they're Canadian?

Canada has a federal government headed by a Prime Minister, which is the equivalent of President. It has a parliamentary system similar to Britain's, which is quite different to the corrupt United States system. Also, Canada is not run by a bunch of religious bigots. In the United States, the religion of the candidate seems to be an issue where as in Canada it's almost never discussed. We like to keep religion strictly out of politics! Each province (same as a state but different name) is headed by a Premier (equivalent of governor). These provinces have probably more independence and power than the states in the united states.

My point to you is to be a little bit more open minded and not be so arrogant and think that if another country does something different to the US (or whatever country you're from), that it must be wrong. Something can be different but equally as good. Thanks!

  9. i go to Canada every year. and i'm 1/4th canadian. but they have like a govener like we have of each provence. (which to us would be a very big state) they don't take the death penalty because from what i heard was because of the way the British treated them so they did not want to do the same. over taxed i don't know.... our taxes arn't that great. and what do you mean the merchandise is overpriced. to there money its jsut right. our money is more then theirs so that makes it easer for us to go there but for them coming to the USA it makes it difficult cause our stuff is like twice as more then their contry. so ya...

  10. not fond of canada but i've never heard that they were unorganized....

  11. a nice place to visit but would'nt want to live there

  12. We don't need a president...we have a Prime Minister.

Each province has a Premier (equivalent to your Governors).

Instead of members of Congress, we have Members of Parliament.  We also have a Senate, but ours is appointed (but that will eventually change).

We don't want the death penalty - used to have it, got rid of it..

Our cost of living is higher (not much higher, but a little bit), but we have wild and crazy things like universal health care, so every single person is guaranteed top quality health care...silly us.

Newsflash - Canadians don't want to be just like the US.  Sorry.

  13. Undecided is more like it cant keep their mind made up
