  1. It could have happened if the NFL wasn't such a racist league.

There are 6 starting QB's in the NFL who aren't white, the same as the CFL.  While there are only 8 teams in the CFL, there are about 30 teams in the NFL.  70% of the NFL are black players..

Calvillo is suited to the American game.  He's durable, has a strong, accurate throwing arm, and would be an effect pocket passer for a team with a solid offensive line and a good running attack.

  2. Nope.

    He's to slow.

  3. I think he could. Hes a stud in the CFL he could make it big in the NFL IMO.

  4. Considering how look it took him to develop into a successful CFL quarterback, I think his shot at the NFL passed him by.  After all, Dave Dickinson, Ricky Ray and Casey Printers all couldn't cut it in the NFL, and were back in Canada within a year or two.

Besides, Calvillo was long over-shadowed in the Alouette backfield by Mike Pringle, the only CFL running back to gain 2,000 yards in a season.  There were a few NFL scouts watching Pringle, so if Calvillo had done enough to impress them, he likely would've gotten a shot somewhere...

  5. He might I guess, he is pretty consistent, but he has had his games that aren't too great.......but doesn't every quarterback? He started of quite slow, so I think the adjustment to the NFL from the CFL would be kinda difficult for him.....

  6. no...look it what happen to casey printers.... he got cut. He was clearly a star in the cfl

  7. Probably not

  8. Not even a back up in pre-season.  But remember, the CFL game is different and it works for him up here.

  9. I don't think that the NFL field or game is designed for the style of play that has brought him so much success. I think the offensive-minded, wide open field of the Canadian game has been great for Calvillo.

A two foot in bounds, 10 yard end zone, east-west motion might not have been as suitable to his style of play.

  10. I doubt it, unless he got lots of help.  He did not start off well in the cfl.  I think he started with hamilton.  It may have taken 3 or 4 years before he did well.  I was surprised he was kept as long as he was.  I am very happy he has turned out so well and is a great asset to the cfl.

    Go Argos Go!

  11. Truly I don't think it matters. AC has had a great career and has left nothing on the table. He is a great leader and that is one of his biggest strengths that he draws from. If he was bench warming in the NFL he wouldn't be showcasing AC or playing to his potential in a league that rewards glitz and c**p not hard work and leadership.

  12. yes he could have, wouldn't have been as good as say warren moon was,  but a consistant starter for many years,
