Do you think Casey Mears career will be better with RCR?

Casey has been shuffled around to I don't know how many different teams in the past years, it's like he hasn't really had a chance to settle in and improve as a driver with a team thats with him year after year. I think going to RCR will do him well. He'll have 3 supportive team mates, and I don't see Richard Childress giving him the boot as quickly as other teams have. I think he'll find a stable foundation there to build and grow as a driver... something that other teams obviously wasn't willing to offer him.

Sorry if I offend any Casey Mears fans, but Casey's just not that good of a driver. I don't see switching teams improving that.

mears days at rcr are numbered before he even gets there

I don't think he will. He hasn't been any better with Kyle Busch's old ride this year. And Alan Gustaphson ( I guess is how you spell it ), isn't that bad of a crew chief.

If I were Clint Bowyer and his team, I'd be hot as a firecracker. They had one h**l of a season last year, and aren't doing to bad this year. But in come Mears, and he gets Clint's team and crew chief. That bites!!! I've respected Childress for years, but he just plain dropped the ball this time.

Unfortunately no. He's bounced around so much his confidence has to be hurting. I'd hate to be a mears fan....having to switch t-shirts/diecast every single year. But no even though Gil Martin's crew is staying with the #07 and Clint is getting a new crew in the #33...I don't think Casey will produce. Look what Kyle did in the #5 vs what Casey has done....same crew Casey's the only thing that's different. I am afraid that if the #07 doesn't work out....we will no longer see Casey hired by a competitive team. It's a shame....he's a super nice guy....but you got to produce.

Well, he sure did a good job of making friends with his new teammate, last night... I hope he can right his ship, but I just don't see it at RCR.

I agree. I think RCR will be a good fit for Casey. BTW, I really don't understand why so many people have been hating on him all over the net tonight. The replay of that wreck clearly showed his spotter telling him he was clear. He needs to get some new glasses obviously.

If he couldn't do anything at Hendrick what makes anyone think he'll do better at RCR because obviously its not an equipment problem.

Casey only won one race on fuel mileage I don't recall him wrecking anybody for it,

Anyways, if you have noticed i think RCR has better equipment then hendricks this season its been shown all season let me rephrase that maybe not better equipment but CONSTANT equipment and Drivers Casey only been with Hendricks for 2 years.

I think RCR is the chemistry Casey Mears needs to show he is a Free Agent worth hiring when the time comes and more teams develop.

RCR will actually help Casey Mears for example its likely Casey will get some more track time in Nationwide.

Plus you got to look at it with Casey getting Clint's Team, you can't start a new crew with a new driver its going to look like a disaster and the worst mistake ever made. Like Dale's 88 team you see how bad his pit Crew can be some times at the beginning of the season? Dale come in pits First and come out 15th Why, Cause they are a new team.

An experienced driver helping to develop a new team and a experienced team helping develop a new driver at one point it may be possible that RCR may do some switch ups as the next year progresses.

Casey Mears has had many bad breaks this season to make him look worst than he actually is, he is a 15th place driver and will be one of those people that they will keep an eye out for coming to the chase.

Short answer:  No

Long answer:  What has Casey done with HMS equipment?  Will he do better with RCR equipment?  I despise the younger Shrub, but during the JR deal last year I questioned HMS's decision as far as results go (I can definitely understand the decision as far as EGO's are concerned), but Mears is not Busch, and RCR is not running the JGR Toyota engines.  My prediction is that Mears will remain decent, but not much more.

I like the guy....  but I'd never let him drive my car.    He's had too many chances and never won anything...    Oh,  there was that one time when he took out Jimmy and Jr. and then coasted to the checkers...   lol

what sucks is that there giving him the jack daniels car.Iliked Bowyer in that ride.The JD car looks way too cool to have an overrated driver like Mears in it.Cheerios doesnt want him because he was in the kelloggs car ,that isnt a problem because nobody notices him out there till he wrecks

Oh I am hoping he does.  But I just can't think of any great defining moment of Casey Mears history.  Not off the bat anyway.  If I dig far enough I may see that he had some wins along the line.   I just think that maybe...just maybe...get him away from hendrick and he will do better.  Like when Kyle was with Hendrick in that #5 he had some wins becasue a talented driver can get a win in  anything. .  As soon as he leaves look at him fly now.  

casey won't be as good but I think he will be better than he is now.  Can't be worse.  lol
