even though Rangers had a poor game and a poor result, have they now not got a slight advantage for next season??

playing friendlies are a sham and do not explore issues with the team, Rangers have now played an important and competitive match, and now see certain issues with players, line ups and tactics...

  1. i don't have time sorry

  2. Yes, in a way your idea is correct, but it really depends on which team. I like Rangers, but I don't know too much about them. Lets put it this way, if the average age of the team is well below 27. Then the team would benefit from the extra games, but if its over 27 then probably not. Its all about the age in your question, and how quickly the coach can work through his problems.

  3. The old firm should play each other as a warm up for Euro ties as this would prepare them for anything.

  4. after that pish

    its a h**l NAW ! fae me

  5. honestly i would av put rangers and celtic in the group stages

    qualifiers is not right

  6. Not really. But that is the way the cookie crumbles.

  7. Im quite sure there was a lesson learned there somewhere tonight!

    Or is that a hope?

  8. So lets get it right......You finish 2nd, so that makes you favourite for the league the following season?

  9. Its more a question of timing, due to the football calander these rounds of qualifiers have to played this early.

For Rangers it makes this season even longer after a heavy long season last year. They go into the SPL with a few competitive games which others may not but it has never seemed to hamr others top clubs in the EPL or Serie A  etc that do not play these qualifiers and won straight thru to the Champions League

  10. It's a shame for a team to play such an important tie so early in the season, Rangers have been unlucky, firstly, playing the UEFA Cup final v a fresh team only 15 games into their season when they were clearly knackered THEN play Kaunas who are 15 games into their season and well into their stride whilst Rangers are yet to really get going.

In terms of the league, yes, Rangers (and Hibs) 'should' have a slight advantage over the rest in the early stages but would say a very slight one

  11. i disagree completely, I think they are more of a burden on teams. I think it puts them under unnecessary strain and pressure when they should be concentrating on their conditioning for the season.

Also can you be completely confident of a win against Kaunas?

  12. no not really it depends who you are playing not that the team rangers were playing are all that good but they are half way through their league season but the friendlies are c**p but it is all about getting the players fitness levels up

  13. leagues start at different times across europe. rangers knew when the game was and should have been ready.they though it would be a stroll in the park and quite frankly it should have been , blame the management for underestimating the opposition.
