  1. get rid of the monarchy completely. They contibute nothing to society

  2. I heard it's not going to Charles because he had an affair and got a divorce, so it's going on to Will. God forbit the Queen dies in a few years I think he's too young to take the Crown so I would say that Charles would be better off because of his age.

  3. passed on to Wills

  4. Passed straight on to William

  5. I think it should pass straight to William. I may be partial though because I really don't like Charles.

  6. By pass Charlie

  7. No one should be king (or queen). The whole royalty thing is a total anachronism and should have been done away with many decades ago. How anyone in this supposedly enlightened age can accept the concept of an hereditary monarchy is completely beyond me.

  8. Well how do you know that Elizabeth's Will says Charles name on it. But it would be funny though...

    "I will give my Watch to Harry"

    "My Horse to Andrew"

    "and my country to Charles"

    Funny =]

  9. No pass Charles and go to William or go 1 better and have no more royal family as it is a waste of money any way

  10. Charles is next in line of succession, and if he outlives his mother he should be King.

  11. it is charles right. he is the eldest son. being remarried has nothing ot do with it.  if you are the oldest son and you get remarried should you youinger brother get your inheitance??

  12. Not sure if it will ever be an issue.  With the history of longevity of the Windsor women, and the lack of same in the men, Charles is likely to kick it before his mum.  Or at least soon enough afterwards that his reign will be pretty short.

  13. Doesnt make any difference what anyone thinks, these matters are determined by the rules of succession. So it will be King Charles when Queenie dies, unless he abdicates for some reason. Popular opinion has absolutely nothing to do with it.

  14. It's not a matter of anybody having a say in the matter. The Law is quite clear: Charles is the eldest son of the Monarch Regnant. Therefore he is the heir full stop

  15. If Queen Elizabeth lives as long as her mother,

    Charles will be age 79,

    Camilla will be age 80 and

    William will be age 45;

    presuming everyone is alive and kicking.

    =======

    The oldest King that UK ever had was George III, and he died at age 82. His son was ruled as King Regent for the last ten years of his life.

    =======

    I don't think anyone should begrudge Charles his reign or his wife. It's been a long time.

  16. The answer is quite simple.The succession of the monarchy is not a popularity contest! Charles will inherit, period. He had prepared for the job. Anyone who has studied this family for a VERY LONG PERIOD OF TIME has been aware that Charles' reign was always expected to be a short one because of the longevity of his grandmother and mother.William will have his time when it is time.Charles was always expected to pave the way for a modernized monarchy and William was always expected to complete the process.

    The Windsors are a duty-bound lot.The succession is not something to be taken lightly.Does anyone here remember Edward VIII?

  17. Of course not. It has never happened before. The line to the throne is not subject to a public personality contest. Charles is the Queen's eldest son, so he will become next. After Charles it will be his eldest son, William. Fact. The fact that's he's remarried has nothing to do with it.

  18. A lot of royalists here answering your question.  I believe you already know the law that Charles is the heir apparent.

    Answering your question, I bleieve the monarchy needs young blood. William is young and has been given a lot of assignments diplomatically, is working hard in the military, and is getting better at doing the right things.

  19. it will only by-pass Charles if Charles abdicates which isn't likely...................and even if he has remarried he followed his heart...............what ever your views on that  many other kings ruled and had known Mistresses ................

  20. Charles is next in line. He can pass it on if he wants to, but why should he. If you forget all the rubbish that is printed about him in the news papers etc, you might ne surprised what he does behind the scenes.

  21. Primogeniture means that the oldest son inherits.  I'm not sure that the United Kingdom is again ready for tannistry--a method that the Scots used to pick their kings during the early medieval period whereby the "best" candidate emerged from a field of related candidates.  For details, review the Shakespearean play, "Macb*th". As the heir apparent to the throne, Prince Charles automatically becomes King upon his mother's death.

    That's the way it always has been except for a slight detour known as the English Interregnum.  Trust me, a constitutional monarchy is preferable to having a Lord Protector, a Fuhrer, or a self-appointed dictator.  Besides, the monarch performs the host and ceremonial duties of the executive branch of the government, leaving the Prime Minister, Cabinet, and Parliament free to run the country.

  22. charles is next in line so it will be passed on to him, how ever as long as the queeen is alive i prefer her to stay on the throne

    i will never forget what Charles did to Diane that stinks. he was having it off with Camilla even when he was dating Diane he broke her heart.

    William is still a young man and is not ready yet for the position

  23. It doesn't matter what we think. Providing Charles outlives his mother he will be the next king according to the Law of Succession, William will only be King after his father has died.

    What's Charles remarrying got to do with it? His ex-wife was no longer alive when he remarried and if you're thinking of Edward VIII, that was a different era when divorce was rare and more to the point it was his first (and only) marriage.

  24. I wish people would get over this 'llok what he did to Diana'  line she was hardly Snow White herself.  it was an unfortunate pairing and it didn't work out.  Camilla seems much more suited to him and he looks more relaxed and content than he has done in years.

    I think he will be a very good King, people overlook the things he has done to make life better for others, not least of all the Princes Trust, because all they see is 'poor Diana' yet another reason to feel she was possibly the worst thing that ever happened to him.

    You can bang on about it all you like, unless he abdicates he will be King and William will have time to grow up and show what he's made of hopefully, he certainly isn't King material by a long chalk

  25. In all the times one hears this question, it is never clear what Pr. William thinks.  Is he even interested?  WOuld HE abdicate in favor of his brother or their uncle?

    Who really cares if it would be Charles anyway,  boy O boy would he be old, eh?
