This is the first time I can ever remember apart from the Munich Olympics, when the focus was NOT squarely on the games...

  1. Dunno  'bout  that.   Great Olympics a so far, though !!

    Dont ya think !?

  2. Nahh i don't think they will be, they are to preoccupied keeping anti Tibet demonstrators from running a mock throughout Beijing :)

  3. Not a bit of it.  While everyone's attention if focused upon what's happening in Georgia, the Beijing Fuzz can happily go about the business of rounding up trouble makes with impunity.

What the eye does not see, the heart cannot grieve over.

  4. h**l no I don't! If the truth be known, China is probably encouraging Russia in all of this...

  5. China and Russia are freinds. And i also think China will invade Taiwan soon

  6. China would be much happier to see the fighting between Uncle Sam and Russian Bear because each side would need China's support like those good old day's cold war (if you still remember Nixon and Kissinger's visit to China to ask Mao to stand up against Soviet Union).

  7. Do you know any expressions other than pee and peeing?  Are you obsessed with urine?

  8. No, it saved them a lot of embarrassment over the ugly kid not singing, and the not fireworks etc.etc.

  9. Actually yes, the fact that the Russian invasion could not wait 2 weeks shows the timing was deliberate to show their military might while many world leaders were paying respects at the opening ceremonies.  The tradition in the Olympics of peace during the games also disrespected by the warlike reds.

Main story is not Chinese lead in gold medals, but atrocities by the rabid Russians.

  10. Marvellous,The opening ceremony,l always boycott as it just gives political propaganda to the host nation,ie look at us,look at us.

  11. Well the Chinese couldn't care less.  Like all major powers of the world, if one super-power is engaged in a war then it is good news for others powers because they know they don't have to worry for the time being.

The problem is USA.  Since the conflicts in Georgia, it has been winding the Russians as if they will sit tight and listen to GBW.  What GBW doesn't know is that Russia is dictator and it doesn't need any body's permission to press that button!!

  12. not at all - it sweeps all the human rights issues - the protests and

tibet away from the headlines - they must be loving it!

  13. Who cares what the Chinese think?  Do you think the Chinese care about what the world thinks of them?  If you do then just ask the Dala Lama.  What is occuring in Georgia is 100X more important than Olympics in a Communist Torture State.  People in Georgia have had their homes destroyed and their soverignty threatened by bully Russia.  They are also now being occupied by a foreign power just because they want their oil.  (**Sounds familiar?  It should think about Iraq)

But the sad part is that it shows how little respect the world has for the U.S. and the western world.  At one time the U.S. carried a lot of weight.  But do to the latest fiascos done by our lovely Mr. President we have lost CREDIBILITY.  It is a shame since Georgia, Ukraine, and the other former Soviet Republics are trying to recover financially and maintain a democracy.  True Russia was not right in their invasion, but WHO ARE WE TO POINT FINGERS?  When the countries of U.S., Great Britain, and others helped to invade Iraq and has done the same.  I think however Russia does need to help with the financial compensation and destruction of the homes and businesses in Georgia.  May God be with the Georgian people in their time of need.
