Question:

Do you think Chris Judd will be the biggest, most expensive, flop of 2008?

I'm glad Collingwood didn't get him. He is injured and well past his top playing days.

I can't think of anyone else who I would predict to beating him for the flop of the year award.

Can you?

  1. The value of Judd is more than just onfield

    1) Captaincy & leadership will be invaluable on and off field

    2) Disciple and club pride is wanning before Wayne Brittan came to the club - they have to rebuild than. With meat heads like Fev they are not going to do that. Stevens is not strong enough and Gibbs is too young.

    3) He's attracting crowds and retaining members.

    4) He's giving a different appeal for the corporate sponsors

    5) The young players look up to him which is key to Carlton's future

    .

  2. No.  The Melbourne Football Club will be.

  3. perhaps

  4. Chris Judd is such an overrrated player.

The reason that he accepted Carlton's offer last year was because he was guaranteed the captaincy

FOR SURE he is going to be the flop of 2008, and if Carlton think that they can be in the top 8 this year because of Judd, then they are all in la la land

  5. Yeah. I reckon this bloke will win the biggest flop of the year award hands down.

  6. he is not fully fit u idiot

  7. duh, you clone

  8. Maybe he is like the biblical Samson  and loses his strength when he shaves his hair? It makes him look like Neanderthal Man.

Seriously, he may be past his best, and he doesn't look like setting the G on fire this year, but don't wipe him off completely, I think there may be a renaissance next year.

  9. ha ha ha , judd will be at his best soon as for being a flop what a joke he is averaging 20 disposals in a team thats being thrashed all over the ground, this year maybe  half right but remember he is 24 and next year he will probally be averaging 30 plus disposals.

  10. I can think of one person who will beat him to the biggest flop of the year and that person is you loser boy, instead of stealing others identity, make your own you cretin.

  11. No. I don't think he will be a flop.....however I am not expecting him to produce the form he showed at the Eagles at any stage during the year.

Lack of fitness & lack of quality players around him will make sure of that.

  12. Yeah, he may well be a flop in 08.

But the guy is only 24. He has a lot of quality football left in him. Well past his top playing days?? How do you know that, have you got a crystal ball mate?

  13. I think chris Judd is a brilliant football player, however with his injury woes and also coaches have worked out how to tag him, he will need to change his style of play to be able to get the possessions he has done in the past. Also he is playing in a bottom side and doesnt have the skill around him to support his brilliance.  I think that Carlton will still be a bottom side and have paid too much for him and have put all their eggs in one basket hoping for a miracle. He will be a good player but not worth the money they paid for him.

  14. so far he has been the biggest flop.. but give the guy a chance seriously, its only round three of the season. no offence but you can't predict the future :)

  15. No.

Chris Judd is one of the best players in the league.

He will hit his top form in the next few weeks.

  16. COME ON XMAN,mate the guy is a champion weather he plays for Carlton or not,yes he has an injury that will take some time but he's still had 21 and 19 touches in the past 2 games and the quality of his delivery is second to none.

Aker said in the paper this week he had the same opp and that it took him 6 weeks to get back his pace and full movement,he also thought Judd will be back to his best ,and id agree Chris Judd will make a full recovery and be one of the supreme players of the comp yet again, who's ever heard of a players career going down from this sort of injury at 24?

mate id love to see the comments from the black and white army if he were at collingwood-its easy to say you don't want him now-but hey Eddie and the entire collingwood board plus other clubs thought he was well worth picking up.

  17. he is as good as his team his talent has dropped since eagles departure

  18. i dont think chris judd will play very good this year

after all he is a seagull, he was very good at that role at the eagles because they knew where to pass, where to sheperd, but at carlton they have not learnt yet where to feed him the ball

  19. absolutely.

the old saying about one swallow and summer comes to mind.
