I don't think the Lions or Swans will win another flag for many years, especially since they are introducing another QLD team and another Sydney team. It does not really bother me either, i don't like either team.

  1. Not unless the media circus let him stay as the head coach for at least 5 years.  And chances are that they won't.

And Sydney have got too much old wood to clear out over a relatively short period.  They will struggle to rebuild when they keep recruiting useless numpties like Spida.

  2. Andrew F WTF?

Why would this question ne in Australian Rules if talking about American gridiron?

I would love to see Vossy have success as a coach, but winning a flag is a way off yet for the Lions, esp with the new teams on the Gold Coast and Sydney syphoning off the better players from the draft.

  3. It's hard to say. I think that every team will be affected to the same extent by the new teams when it comes to on-field ability. Just because the new teams will be near the Lions and Swans, doesn't mean that they will perform poorly on field.

We cannot make an educated guess as to whether Voss will do well with his team, because we haven't seen him in action yet! Save that question for next year :)

  4. I see that you are still coming up with reasonable questions, lol!

I agree with you, I dont think they will be winning a flag anytime soon either!

EDIT; Andrew F, this is Australian Rules football... derr!

  5. I think Brisbane will go down the ladder further before they come up again.

As for Sydney, I think they are an aging team, but they can never be discounted!! They will hover around 8 th spot for another couple of years giving everyone the irrits.

  6. I think the odds are against him - not coached at AFL level before. Also, what can he do in 3 years, especially if they struggle to pick up players? How will the resentments of established people in the coaching hierarchy take Voss' explosive insertion into the position of Head Coach?

Nothing can happen for him in the next 3 years. At the end of this time, his performance will be appraised; we may have the negative answer to your question, or they may try him as Head Coach for another period. That's my summation of the situation, for what it's worth.

  7. The Lions have not done a thing in over 50 years ... And a new guy...ie coach, QB, Barry Sanders, Billy Sims, Mark Carrier cannot, will not turn them into a Super Bowl winner. next question

  8. Yes, Not next year but the year after they will win another flag.

  9. i doubt voss will. he is inexperienced with the job but as the years go on he will get better

  10. Yeah  but not next year, he should have started off with west coast to gain some coaching experience - to go strait to the top job is just too quick and pressuring.

He might win a flag after he gains some coaching experience and gets to experience the game from a coaches point of view, but not next year or the year after - premierships take time and vossy needs alot of it to gain good coaching skills.

  11. it'll take a few years but we will get there

our problem is that we are built around brown and a gf will come either when he is there of a few years after he has left

  12. Is the new Detroit Lions coach called Voss too?

    Ha ha ha!
