  1. trent barrett definitely he will fill in kimmorleys position nicely & he is a really good player.. even though i dont like him.. and i think it was a waste buyin corey hughes they are trying to improve their team not keep it how it is

  2. Stupidest buys ever. I know Sticky's got a plan etc etc. But I really don't see any advantage with Barrett over Kimmorley. They're both old and boring. Atleast Kimmorley can kick. Call me a nuff, but I'd much rather Noddy than Barrett.

That said, we needed to offload Nods and Barrett is a decent replacement [as opposed to having an unproven Green move into the 7]

I cant see the logic behind the Hughes buy though.

My top 17 for next year would be

    Kearney

    Covell

    Ando

    Pom

    Brown

    Barrett

    Seymour

    Bird

    Gallen

    Tupou

    Ross

    Kinga

    Dougs

Williams / Hughes / Filiga / and either Nuts or Peek or Snowden or whoever can be kept.

  3. I think they were bad buys... both heading towards the end of their careers... money would have been better spent on some young talent. If you watch the u-20 Toyota cup you can see that there is plenty of talent running around. As a St. George supporter i am glad Barret is not coming back to us.

  4. I think if you are a Sharks supporter then you've got reason to be optimistic for this and next year... Gallen and Bird will come back from Origin with great experience and confidence, and Barrett is only going to add to this.  Plus Barrett and Ricky Stewart have worked together in the Australian team so Stewart obviously thinks he is onto something.. and so do all the other clubs who tried to get him... but Barrett was only ever going to the Sharks and this is because of Stewart...

Cronulla seem to be heading in the right direction, and if they have a good off-season, they'll be a good chance of a top-four finish next year, and maybe (if they keep winning the close ones) this year
