As for me, I don't know, but I sure hope so. How about the rest of the cast? Which ones went along by what they've been told of the story and the script, and which ones actually read Tolkien's masterpiece?

The movies turned out really good, but I've always wondered about all that stuff...

  1. Some of the characters had read the books but some hadn't.

Same with the musical each character wanted to bring something to the character themselves without being a clone of the character in the book or in the film.

  2. I saw an interview somewhere where Wood said that he did read it while he was making the film..

  3. To be honest, I don't think they did. When I was in school, I never knew about The Lord of the Rings, but the book The Hobbit was at the top of the teachers' list of books for doing book reports on. I was forced to read The Hobbit but never knew about LOTR until it was made in motion picture. In my opinion, the actors probably just read only that in the script and not the actual literature until after they were done making the movies, if at all.

  4. I dunno. Maybe. Most actors and actresses like to read the book once they are given the role because it helps them to learn the part even better. i hope he did too. He did a great job either way though.
