I actually do like it. It's unique, and has an interesting story behind it. Plus it sounds good. Surnames as first names are very in vogue right now.

I personally do like it! It is like a celebrity name!! I really wish my mom named me something unique.

Escher would definitely stand out among the hoards of Toms and James!

but, he may detest it when he is a child, because when you are a child you want conformity, and children dont understand that "different" is good. but i'm sure he will embrace it as an adult!

Go for it my daughters called Oceanella which has had good and bad feedback. She'll get bullied they say.,she'll find it difficult to get a job!! Well I've known people with unique names that haven't had any problems in life. Were very popular in school have jobs etc. Lead normal lives just like those with popular names.

I love it! I think it has a good sound to it and I always thought it's cool when you can see where your name comes from and artists are particularly good for that.

Not impressed.  Remember the child has to live with the name and all the taunts etc. that go with it at school an so forth.
