Do you think Federer's new coach could help him win more clay matches and eventually the French Open?

I think he needs to use the clay season as a practice to get back into his stride and get ready for Wimbledon, which he will win.

Yes, I think so.

I know that it was mentioned by commentators during other matches at another tournament that  in relation to Jim Courier (and I think Michael Chang too but can't remember) he had hired Higuerras (sp?) to help him get better on clay.  And because of that help to get better on clay he was able to win the French Open.

Hopefully he will. Jose Higueras is a clay court expert, helping previous French Open winners like Jim Courier who won it twice and the youngest winner of the French Open, Michael Chang.

Maybe but I don't think so. We all know he has been trying to win the French Open for years and nowadays, he loses to the King of Clay. I don't think Rafa will let his guard down especially with his records, Most Consecutive wins on Clay(54) and Most Consecutive French Open Titles. Besides, he has been improving immensely on his all-around game, especially his service. So in my opinion, No French Open for Federer.

Jose Higueras is a clay court specialist, so he should be able to give valuable tips to Fed. His chances for French Open depends on how he performs in Rome and Hamburg. He seems to be lacking in confidence right now, but if he wins any of these tournaments, it should be enough to get his confidence back. His fitness has to be 100% too, and if he has the confidence and a good coaching advice, he should be in a good position to win the French Open.
