Do you think Federer can make a comeback?

Or do you think that he's been a great champion, But: In tennis terms Nadal will now rule the roost, and continue in his dominance for a couple of years?

I think federer will come with a comeback because this year he did bad only because he was very sick this year but Nadal also has some things up some sleeves it's very hard to tell right now.

I think Federer will make a comeback - former number 1's haven't been as consistent as Federer, he has been amazing over the last 4 - 5 years. It's not all going to go down hill just like that - he's one of the world's greatest players. Federer has broken so many records, and all athletes have their ups and downs, whatever sport they play. Pete Sampras said when he was down, he watnted to fight harder - hopefully this will be the same for Roger.

Although Nadal is playing extremely well recentley I do't think he will last as long as Federer has. I don't say this because I dislike Nadal, I think he's a great guy - but he has been no. 2 for a long time, his career has not only just started, and his fitness and strength is what is keeping him on top. That can't last forever and his oponents will gradually learn how to defeat him and his fitness will start to slowly wear down. Federer can play all types of shots, and doesnt rely on his fitness, he plays a smart game, and is consistent on all surfaces which I think is why he has been number 1 for so many weeks.

So yes, I think he can and will make a comeback. He has said he will be analysing his 2008 game, and be working harder to make it a better 2009. He is a champion, and has learnt to make the best from his losses - it might be hard for him now.. but I beleive it will get better. He and Nadal played an equal Wimbledon final (it was sad there had to be a loser), but next year he will be fighting harder to earn back his 5 year title. They played as good as each other that match - and Federer probably played better throughout the tournament because prior to that match, he hadn't dropped a set.

I think they will challenge each other for the number 1 positition, but Federer is not dead yet, number 2 isn't a bad place to be. And at least now, we know he can higher in the rankings, not just fall below. All players should be scared of Nadal and Federer in the years to come (not to mention Djokovic). It's going to be a tough next year for Federer, but he will cope - all champions can do well under pressure.

He is great, he is just not number one anymore.....the sport takes a toll on you..

It's possible, but difficult.  Nadal has power and finesse at his disposal.
