Well I believe in theory it could work but no it won&#039;t because man is not capable of such a task of maintaining anything for eternity.

Immortality can be defined as not being subject to death, fire even according to your scenario needs (generations after generations to take care of the flame) can not be defined as immortal because it is inherently subject to death (extinguish) as soon as the fuel is finished.

well, if it&#039;s taken care of, it&#039;s not immortal, is it?  It&#039;s more the attention of the people that is.  But it is possible for it to blaze forever.
