Do you think Frasier Gehrig shouldn't of retired in the first place?

He should have made his decision more carefully about not retiring, What about you guys?

He talks retirement at the end of the 2006 season. He then retires for 3 minutes at the end of 2007. You have to query his dedication to put in the hard yards and get through another preseason.

If you look at the end of last season he seemed to give up on the saints. He would not defend and keep the ball in the forwardline. His lack of passion was obvious.

I will be surprised it they could get 30 goals out of him this year. In fact they may be lucky to get 11 games out of him.

Everyone is entitled to change their minds.

I'm sure at the time he thought about it and his decision to retired was right for him.

I guess once he left he realized that he really wasn't ready to retire.  

I don't believe in living with regrets so good on him - its not like he's the first person to do it!

I answered something like this earlier. I think he has a year still left in him, 50 goals? St. Kilda needs all the help they can get.

I still remember when I met him in the rooms at Princes Park in 1995. He was the Rising Star nominee that week, round 18. He was a scared, frightened Victorian that was home sick, playing for WCE. I told him he would be a star, just keep playing hard.

Retiring,.. is probably one of the hardest and sadest decisions a footballer has to make .  Some at an age in their 30's have little choice, because of injury but others around the same number are drawn to retirement because they think they have too, even though they are fit ,healthy, capable and still have plenty to offer. I think its fantastic Fraser has decided to keep going, and along with his teammate Robert Harvey , I wish them both a successfull  2008 !

Well Fraser (without the i) probably did what I did and a million other less talented players like me did.  Hung up the boots and then drove past a training session and missed his mates.

I don't know if he still has what it takes and I still think St Kilda made the wrong choice when they had a chance to run a broom through the place, but good luck to him and I totally understand his decision.  He can always come and play for the Uni up here, we've got a place for him!
