  1. no. i have friends in holland, and since using the euro, everything is FAR more expensive//

  2. Why?  Given the general hysterical fear of all things EU Im surprised they dont adopt the US dollar.

In a country where they cling to 'cultural heritage' and the most popular dish is curry.

National Heritage?  lol The currency currently used was introduced circa 1972.

Think of the UK : Binge drinking and CCTV......you can keep it.

  3. yes everything would be cheaper (for a while anyway)

  4. It is stupid not to maintain control over your own money supply.  All the major countries in the Eurozone have had big problems because of the Euro.

  5. If you were around when decimilsation took place you'd say NO in an instant.

  6. I don't think it would be right. Due to the exchange rate at the moment, we will be losing out on a large amount of cash for our homes and other assets.

  7. Might as well. They already joined the E.U.  They were better off not joining, but since they did, what's the use of not switching to the Euro?

  8. Yes, it would be more straightforward

  9. Prices would increase not decrease as when we went decimal everything was rounded up. Apart from that Stirling is one of the major currencies in the world. We have already been dragged into Europe much against the majorities wishes and adopting the Euro would be the straw that broke the camels back. No thanks heres to the pound and the traditional British pint. Now I guess that the EU will want us to drive on the wrong side of the road. What next.?

  10. No thanks, I'd rather have monopoly money first.

Its not about heritage for me, but rather staying as an independant currency, without the need of losing yet more power to Europe.

  11. No, it's called the british pound for a reason.

  12. Yes we should.  It would make price comparison and travelling much cheaper, doing away with exchange rates and the bank's swingeing commissions.

Money is but a medium of exchange, and the theories about loss of national identity and price increases are unfounded.  Shopkeepers are still free to apply competitive prices as they do at the moment.  as for the royal family, their portraits would be minted on all of the British Euro Coins.

I'm pretty sure that we will have the Euro before the next Olympics anyway, as it would attract more European tourists.

  13. No. This is still the USA .

  14. heavens no, why should we, this is just another example of getting rid of this country for good an signing over everything to the EU, do we want to be part and parcel of some superstate, no i d**n well don;t and to those that say everything will be cheaper, it won't. I have been to numerous European countries that got rid of their currencies and in each one the people i spoke with all said their prices had risen significantly.

  15. No.. Perish the thought. Things are bad enough without losing probably one of the last things that identifies us...

  16. NO!

The sterling is part of our heritage. Lets just throw everything away that lets people know who we are should we?

The Stirling and the Pint are national institutions, and should not be tampered with.

  17. No, No, No Never Never Ever.  We love our sterling............

we even got upset when they took away our 10 bob note, and when the pound note went, well that was a disaster.

DOWN WITH THE EURO IN EVERY WAY.!!!!!!!!

  18. Definetly not, we have lost enough of our identity with being in Europe without that thank you very much.

  19. I once believed in the EU, now I think it s an experiment gone wrong and we can live better as an independent UK with trade agreements and no immigrant tsunamis
