  1. yes it's possible and me might be in the top five for winningest managers

  2. Yes and Yes so far Mister Wins has had one losing season 79-83 (oh wow what a horrible season I might kill myself..not)...He will win the Division atleast 15 times in his Career as Manager for the Twins I mean if you can win it with a bunch of scrappy players like he has...than it pretty much means he is going to be a winning Manager...he doesn't belive in Homeruns....he believes in Small ball and getting up in the pitching count he has the better team in the AL Central (Explaining his 32-19 record against the AL Central this year is well WOW!) He will win a World Series by how he looks in the minors he'll fall on a player that comes up and surprises everyone with having 45 Homers a season and a .330 BA It just is going to happen he'll be likely to find another Francisco Liriano/Johan Santana minus the injury and trade, pitching and having say a 20-5 season with a 2.25 ERA and 200 Ks

  3. As a loyal Twins fan, I hope he wins a couple World Series. I don't think this is the year, but it will happen soon as the Twins have a deep talent pool in the minors. If Gardy manages the Twins for several years, he will definitely be one of the top 5 winningest managers. The team just doesn't lose when he is there. He breads hard working, focused young players who have great fundamentals. When an entire team is fundamentally sound, they are inevitably going to win games.

  4. He has such a young team, they probably don't have any playoff experience except Mauer and Monroe. Maybe Morneau. Their pitching staff is so young that I don't think that they can carry them through to the WS. I certainly think that the Angels have a shot at winning this year. I would like to see the Yankees win though. I don't think he will be one of the top five managers with the most wins in our era

    1. Joe Torre

    2. Mike Scioscia

    3. Terry Francona

    4. Ozzy Guillen

    5. Jim Leyland.

  5. yes, for sure. Listen Ron Gardenhire is one of the best managers in the big leagues for one reason and one reason only, he builds and molds young talent and makes them believe in his philosophy on how to win games. And as for the guy who said they get rid of all their good players cause they wont pay em, forget about it. The twins as a orinization are slowly become a bigger market team, and with the new stadium its only going to help. Last i checked the twins are in a better situation this year at this time then they were last year at this time, and we are minus Johan, and Tori. We don't have the most talent, but we do have the best hard working bunch of ball players in the game. We don't buy players- we develope players. Maybe not this year for the twins, but soon. I am thinking in the next two years twins, and rays battling it out for a spot in the ws. Maybe i'm wrong, but i doubt it. As qouted by Sir Charles Barkley.

  6. I think that if you can get to the Playoffs it is all a c**p shoot from there, anything can happen in a seven game series.  They have young pitching that is correct but they also have a pitcher with immense playoff experience (Livan Hernandez, not great at this point but servicable and seemed to do well in the Playoffs!)  You can win with young players, you can win with wily veterans all it really takes is for your players to click at the right time.  The Braves had many great seasons in the regular season but they failed in the Playoffs because the team was not built around balance and they could not click all at once, pitching wins in the playoffs and the Braves would get either bad starting pitching or bad bullpen every year.  The Twins on the other hand do have a great balance of talent, they can score runs in bunches with guys that you have never heard of...I keep waiting to see Willie Mays Hays in the OF for them, half their team is people that you have never heard of but they all work well together.

Back to Gardy, he is the right man for that situation and yes he may end up in the top five in wins, he does not have "down years" like others seem to have, they are always in the hunt.

  7. I never will place the outcome of any series on a manager's shoulders. It is the players that play the game, though managers do have the responsibility of putting the best players out there and making certain decisions in key moments. I believe that if the Twins could hold on to this line up as it is right now, even better with a year or two experience they could become serious contenders. Right now, I don't think that they have the starting pitching to go that far in the playoffs, though numbers would argue that fact right now. If management would put forth some effort to hold on to what they have and maybe add a vet or two in the line up and on the mound they could do some things.

  8. Technically he was an assistant on tom kellys team so he did win.,..as far as will he win as a manager...The twins dont buy talent.,.they develop talent.  They may bring someone in to DH but that has never worked since Chili Davis..hows that for a name drop...

They play baseball the right way and will suprise some people.  they play small market baseball.  Florida did it a few years ago..The brewers are doing it now with a 400 pounder on first base.  They will compete this year and by the time the moving truck hits the new stadium we will be prime to go far into the playoffs.  the crowd will be jacked and the players will be pumped.  Gardy will manage with passion and trim the fat and will contend.

  9. well i love the twins and i think they could win any day. they have lost a few games but those are only little road bumps and gardenhire he stands up for what he belives in, and is not afraid to argue to play the game fair but i think they could if hey tried hard

  10. If the Twins ever go all out and add some big talent around their great young players then maybe.  He certainly gets the most out of his players.  If they keep considering themselves to be a small market team, then it may be hard to win.

  11. I think it is possible...but we need to be putting more money into the Twins.

I'm sure that will happen now because we have the new outdoor stadium that will be opening soon, so we will be needing to spend more money on the players to bring more fans to the new stadium.

Our pitching is good but it could be better - we need to bring Lariano up and lose Boof and Hernandez.  As far as batters, we have many players that are batting well over .300 - we need to get rid of Everett FAST...Monroe needs some improvement with batting.

Other than that we have a great team: Morneau, Mauer, Span, Punto, Young, Cuddy, Kubel, Casilla...Gomez needs a little more experience but I think he will improve...

We'll just have to see how the rest of the season goes...it's been a good season though and the team is working really well together.

  12. Their Owner does not want to keep their expensive but good players, so I doubt it.

Maybe, if they get lucky one year.  It is really hard winning a World Series on a short budget.
