Question:

Do you think Georgia has whatever happens to the nation, coming to it?

I was looking over the news about the current problems in Georgia, and I happened to notice something. Apparently, the other day, Georgia's president (prime minister...whatever) declared a unilateral cease fire to allow the country time to sort out what was going in their rebellious province, without making things worse by sending troops in. Then, less than an hour after declaring the cease fire, they broke it. It wasn't that Russia or the rebels broke the agreement, no Georgian troops broke their own cease fire. Now, they've pushed things to the breaking point and really ticked off Russia who's fighting back. Does anyone else feel that this is akin to a kid on the playground kicking dirt in a bully's eyes, only to get the ever loving snot beat out of him for doing? Meaning that he had it coming and should have known better?

  1. Absolutely not.  They were only taking back land that belonged to them.  They've been provoked by the Russians and Ossetians for over a year.  I hope they launch a long and deadly insurgency that bleeds the Russian military of money and men for decades to come.  Can't wait to see Russian widows weeping and Russian children orphaned.

  2. ^^^ South Ossetia always wanted to be part of Russia, but international community didn't allow it. I don't see them having problem with being annexed...

  3. Maybe but what is Russia true miotives in helping Osetia I dont think Russia will allow Osetia to be an independent country Russia will annex all of the state all Georgia without any special privilagess for Osetians !

As a Pole I know that Russia cannot be trusted When Russia "helped" it always meant the annexing of the country some time later I think it will also happen with Georgia Unless the USA and it allies wont do something !

  4. You got it.   Hmm who else is guilty of attacking like that

  5. Also about a month ago Saakashvili said that he wouldn't  sign an agreement to not open a fire in any case. He said he wouldn't attack "his own people" and then he starts shelling Ossetia.

Most likely he hoped that Georgia would be military  supported by the USA and the NATO.

Now there are no reasons to believe him.

  6. I don't think one state should make the entire country suffer for what it did but the U.S. should still defend itself against the invading Russians no matter what the state of Georgia has done.
