  1. The most absurd question ever asked would be this one. Gilly is a man of self respect unlike our very own cricketers who would not retire even after crossing 35people like him play for the country rather than playing for the sponsers . and CA is the best cricketing board in the world not in the terms of wealth but in the administration wise. otherwise why do you think most of the time wen our indian players tour to the down under they lose against their local team.

  2. no

  3. no,because he has crossed the age of 35 and it is the to  retire from cricket and joint the ipl or icl.

  4. My friend your comment is well suited to Andrew Symonds and Ricky Ponting and not Gilchrist. They are the guys who doesnt like Indian cricket and are here only to gain extra payments.Gilly is a wonderful player, nobody would have honored him better than Australians. Playing in IPL doesn't mean Gilly is interested in money making. His thoughts are to participate in a popular tournament in India. He likes India and Indians thats why he is here.

  5. ahh.... how can you say like that...

you dont know Gilly,,, if u know him you will NOT say such silly things about the great man.

  6. Australian plyers are very well looked after by their board. They don't need IPL to feed them. In the case of Gilly, there are some players who has self respect and knows the right time to call it a day, unlike many who won't retire even if they are 36 plus.

  7. No. I think Gilchrist retired to meet beautiful Indian girls and eat curry all day long!

Gilchrist felt the time had come for him to move on and it so happened that the ipl shorter version of the game was gaining momentum. He was invited to join and not the other way round, retire to cash in on IPL.

Besides the T20 is not for everyone as you can see from the inconsistent performance of India's iconic players.

    PS KKR are tonights winners.

  8. Yes, and I don't blame him. CA is a poor board and can't afford him. He's grossly underpayed. He earns twice as much for half as much of matches, in less than 45 days, that too. Only the IPL & Indian businessmen can afford players like him.

  9. He is a great batsman and he always played for his team and not money unlike a few Indians

  10. No i don't think so.. He's an amazing player and is much respected. The way he bats is so amazing if you watch the way he bats in slow motion...he doesn't take the ball on..he just nudges it to where it wants to go..but when he's really on fire he'll smash it through the air...

Gilchrist is a man who honours Australia..Australia honour him..Through my eyes he's not the type of person to give that all up and retire just so he can get a lot of cash in the IPL

  11. according to me Gilchrist is one of the greats of all time.. and he dont need money.

he retired from International cricket to spend his time with his family,, IPL is just for 2 months or so,, rest of time he will spend with his wife n kids

  12. coz He's  INCONSISTENT

Look at CB series &IPL too...coz of his sheer luck he scored 100 runs and in other matches.....PERISHED

  13. No!!!!!!!!

  14. I don't think so. In his later matches pre-retirement he had seemed to be losing his edge, with inconsistent form and a lack of focus. While I think he would have had a safe position in the Australian team for a while longer, he preferred to leave while he was still at a high level, rather than hang on as long as he could and suffer the indignity of being dropped.

In any case, given that several current Australian players have also been involved in the IPL, I don't think you can make the argument that he had to quit the Australian team so he could join the IPL. If he hadn't been ready to leave for his own reasons, he would have just signed up to the IPL for those games that didn't conflict with the Australian schedule.

  15. no he dint....he is a great player and he mentioned clearly that he retired from cricket to spend time with his family and he is playing in the IPL to stay in touch with cricket
