Do you think Girardi should bench Melky?

Question

I understand that he is playing really good in the field. But, His bat is awful right now.

Do you think Girardi should sit Melky a few day for christian cuz christian is faster than Melky and he might play better field with the exception of throwing arm.

When Matsui comes back who is going to sit Damon or Melky? Cuz i dont know if Damon could play center

Girardi should platoon Damon and Melky. Start Damon and in late game situations when we need defense then use Melky. It will keep Damon's bat in the lineup yet will keep his legs fresh for the postseason. Melky's bat is hurting us big time. However, the addition of Pudge/Nady also offsets that a bit. Either way, just beat the Sox will ya?! Go Yanks.

As far as Matsui--isn't his contract almost up? Say Arigatou gozaimasu and move on. HIs bat isn't what it was and I would much prefer Nady's defense.

melky should sit when matsui comes back cause damon has experience in center and he is doing better than melky

Damon Can't Play Center, I'd Stick Guzman In Center  And When Matsui Gets Back We'll See Where Melky Fits In.

no he shouldnt because if the yankees players like arod and jeter and abreu do wat they do and they get production from nady & pudge then they dont need offense from melkey he takes away runs with his defense and you put damon back in center they willl get more runs

Well it couldnt really hurt them if Girardi gave him a few days off.....Christian i believe in....

When Matsui comes back i guess that Damon will spend more time in Center which isnt necessarily a bad thing

Then next year we probably wont be seeing Abreu in Pinstripes

ok im sorry man i love the yankees but dont expect matsui to be in a yankee uniform. if Nady turns out to be great, he just hit a 3 run shot about 3 sec. ago btw, then you can expect matsui to be possibly traded. damon will not sit he will mosty likely DH for the team with giambi sometimes DH'ing as well. and as for melky and christian. if the game was on the line i would rather have melky in there. i mean christian is fast but he cant get on first base and you cant steal first base! i think he may be a good player in the future but you have to keep melky in. he has above average speed and is an amazing fielder. and expect his hitting to improve soon. but christian should def. get more play time then he does. and christian is no where near a good a fielder as melky. and melkys arm is sacred. but i kind of see your point.

No, what comes around goes around. Melky has more heart than anyone on the team. To bench him would ony send a negative message. It would be when he becomes a distraction is when I would bench him.

i wouldn't because he is our best defenseive outfielder and if you put damon at center you risk injury and we can't afford to have damon go down again.  And even though he's been terrible offensively we have been doing very well lately so it's not that bad, once he warms up things will only get better.
