  1. I think a national apology and suspension is in order. The comment reflects her inner thoughts and feelings about Tiger and in a nation where the wounds of a hurtful past seems to be finally healing (on all fronts including political) this comment tears at the scab. However, it is not only important to just fire her, the way the public and the country deals with it as a whole, will show the real manner in which they've moved on. If it imoulsive and lacks direction, it could only do more damage.

  2. No, I don't think they should do anything.

I can't wait for the whole "She's a racist" issue to come out.  She didn't mention race, color or ethnicity, all she said was the word "Lynch".  I can't believe what we've become.  What if someone says watermelon all of a sudden they are racist for saying watermelon.  That's stupid.

  3. Nobody watches the Golf Channel anyways.

  4. I read about this on the internet. Sounds bad for her, but I absolutely don't believe she meant anything as to hurt Tiger Woods at all. She even apologize to the man himself, not sure if she did though, but should the world make a big deal about an anchor woman making joke about the best golf player in the whole world? This reminds me of Dan Rather thing. Dan Rather shouldn't have to quit his job either. I still think the woman does not mean to hurt anyone, but I'm sure she, now, knows what you can or can't say on live TV.

  5. The 'do not cross line' of political and racial correctness is dynamic and invisible to most of us unless someone else accidentally or purposely crosses it.  The normal buzz comes to a halt and people want to replay over and over what  they thought they just heard.  This is when most of the damage is done...the aftermath.  It's not like Kelly Tilghman did this on purpose and it was a hate crime.  Zero tolerance is for racial slurs, injustice, and violating human civil rights.  Kelly realized her mistake, apologized to Tiger woods and her viewers.  Should we fire her or run her out of the county?  Maybe we can throw her in jail for a few weeks?  Human is to error but  being human is to forgive.

  6. It's way overblown.  She does a good job announcing and just had a big goof here - it was a foolish thing to say but not even close to the Al Camparis ("Blacks don't have the necessities to manage baseball.") or Jimmy the Greek ("Blacks were bred to be fast...")

There was nothing racial intended by her comments.

  7. Not racially motivated but a bad choice of words.  She should be punished and possibly banned.  Tiger as a professional will act in his true fashion and not get upset.  He will demand an apology but he is too much a MAN to play the race card.

  8. Not a big fan of golf, but there's no room for remarks like that in sports these days.  Somebody should punch her in the face.

  9. Let it go people. This is a non-issue. You're following in the media's prescribed foot steps.
