Question:

Do you think Hillary campaign failed to play the "woman" card enough, which now Palin is taking advantage of?

I thought Hillary as a Presidential candidate did inspire women but I feel like this was underplayed. Now Palin is supposedly a feminist icon -even though she is against women's rights- which is an image herself and the GOP promotes. I think it is smart of her campaign to do so but do you think things would have been different if Hillary appealed to women more and earlier on in the campaign?

  1. I think Hillary had to stay within certain boundaries or risk race as a forefront issue (which it seems to be anyway). Given that, she did quite well cracking the ceiling. Palin has given her due credit for those cracks and I don't think she is playing the gender card near as much as Hillary. Personally, I think the only reason Hill is backing Obama is in hopes of his reducing her campaign debt as he trashed her and Bill horribly during the primaries.

  2. Hillary appealed to women. There was no problem there. She was killed with sexism and the democrats never stood up and spoke out against it. And she was always under threat of 'playing the gender card'. The republicans and Palin are going to fight back this time.

  3. Hillary is a woman?.........I didn't know that

  4. No, I think its the complete opposite, Hillary acted to much like a female by playing the little emotion card, But Palin try's to stay away from crying on stage and all of that kind of stuff, I mean she is a woman and that will probably help her cause a bunch, but she isn't useing it the same way Hillary is

  5. Wow... we have the black card... the woman card...

    What's next?

The proud American who likes to EARN what they have card?

    Sure... I'll play that one.

  6. no, people should stop comparing the two.   Sarah Palin is not a feminist.  Her views are hostile toward women.  She opposes just about every issue that the majority of women support.

  7. Underplayed? That woman still won't shut the h**l up and she is going on the trail to promote the man that she said wasn't ready to lead!  Palin is not against women's right...she is against abortion.  Stop twisting it.

It would be impossible for Hillary to appeal to more women.  You either love her or you hate her, and it would be very hard to get her to change minds.

  8. Yep, that's why the Democrats are so defensive and scared.  Hillery would have been their best choice and I'm a Republican.  But I can see people are jealous that Sarah Palin is loved so and they are causing the earth to wobble with their squirming.  Now they are just talking before they know what's coming out of their mouth.  It's really better than talk shows or soaps to watch

  9. No.

Palin played the Ethics and Responsibility cards.

That is what true American Conservatives are all about.

That is why she solidified their base.

  10. I recall Hillary tearing up in New Hampshire when she knew she was losing the primaries.

If that can be called the "woman card"?

I guess it comes down to redefining what is means to be a feminist. The woman's movement is being redefined.

  11. Hillary didn't need to play the woman card like Palin and the GOP are doing because Hillary actually knows the issues, talks to the press, and is confident that she will be taken seriously. In the case of hillary, there acutally WAS sexism.

In this case, Sarah's just unqualifiied so she cries sexism to cover that up.

  12. naaaa !!!

  13. I don't want women playing the gender card just like what Palin is doing. She is a disgrace. We are better than that.

  14. This "playing the woman card" talk is very sexist.  We'll never get over sexism / racism / classism if we have to keep discussing it.

  15. Obama and his surrogates, think they will get away with Sarah, but you WON´T this time.
