Question:

Do you think I'll get hired?

I hurried to Seferino's (a restaurant) today after school, to catch the manager. I caught her, she glanced at my application and wrote down what hours I can work.

She said that she'll need a few days to look over it.

I applied there before, and they never called, but they're hiring now, so do you think I'll get hired?

I think that my application looked good. I had previous experience at Arby's.

  1. Probley. If your application looked good, and they're hhiring, so most likely.

  2. ill keep my fingers crossed for you

  3. I have used the, "I applied before but never heard from you" to my advantage. If she was writing down the hours you can work that is a good sign. Previous experience in most restaurants is not very important. If you show that you are eager, that is. I have work in a variety of restaurants in the past and many of them are just looking for "warm bodies". Meaning people who are not currently dead. :) Just make sure you call back and show that you are ready to do your best!

  4. i don't think you will get hired because that excuse " I need a few days" is what they say when they are not interested. It does not take a few days to to look over an application. She looked it over right in front of you. Grrr! I hate that. I applied at Pizza Hut and they guy looked at my complete application right in front of me and then said he needed a few days to think about it and I never got called!

  5. I don't know...

How do you THINK you did... In the interview!

  6. kinda

i got the same thing at sobeys the manager said shes gna go check my application and they are gna call me soon

    but they didnt

if its not xmas or marsh u wont get jobs thats easy

  7. Gee, I have no idea.  But I wish you luck anyway.

  8. Hard to say.  It's strange that she'd tell you that she needed a few days to look over your resume when she'd already seen it, but on the other hand, if she was telling you what hours you could work, I'd say that means there's a pretty good chance.

  9. Looks good when the manager wrote down the hours you can work but only time will tell.  You never know.  Wait a few days and you will find out.  I would HIGHLY recommend following up with them since a lot of time managers of under-staffed companier lose things like applications (which are low priority compared to keeping the business going).  Show up again at the restaurant a OPENING time when the traffic is low and the manager is not so busy.

  10. Just don't rush them.Give them time to look over your appliacation. And if you're patient, you will get hired.

  11. call back every other day, tell them how much your interested without sounding desperate.

  12. ye, happened to me too.

i applied online for a job about a month ago, but never got a call. I applied there again today, and went there personally because it said "NOW HIRING" on ther front window.

hope me and you both get the job (yn)

  13. Yea i bet you will get hired, good luck.

  14. All depends on how bad they need someone. Actual service restaurants (where you get tips) like pre trained battle worn vets they can just say show up X time more than people they have to train. Good Luck.

  20. Since you were able to talk to the manager you have a fairly good chance, but just make sure to call back because although you may feel you're being annoying, being persistent shows that you really would like the job.

  21. i hope not. we'd rather have you goofing off here on Y!A

  22. Keep calling.....until you can a straight answer.

  23. call in 2 days , & ask for her..say..Hi this is so-in-so..have you had a chance to review my application?

always do this when ya apply...it appears you REALLY want the job

    *snozz*

  24. How would the people here know any better than you?  The only way anyone will know for certain is if you wait.
