In the year 2006, I enter a college majoring in "graphic design". During the summer I received a internship at government agency as a graphic designer. As I received experience from my internship, I started to feel less excited about study graphic design. While in college I decide to get my requirements out the way. That way I could find out what I wanted to do. Now I want to study Family law. My best bet is to go to a community college for two years and then transfer to a four year college. Do you think Im heading in the right direction? Is this normal for college students?

  1. You've got a good head on your shoulders, you're definitely doing the right thing.  People change their majors an average of 3-4 times during their college career.  You're lucky that you found out early on, and accepted quickly that you needed to start fresh.   I did the same thing, I thought I wanted to study market research and advertisting, but now I realize that instead of studying the psychology of buyers/sellers I want to do more human and emotional psychology work, and now I'm thinking about going to school to be a social worker.

    Good luck to you!
