Do you think I'm not getting hired because....?

One of my strong points in my resume is with a company that I worked for as a temp in two different capacities back to back and then was hired on full time to start an entire department at the organization. Do you think I am not hearing from an almost 'sure thing' potential employer because I put down that I worked at that company for all the jobs instead of as a temp first and then the company.

  1. It is difficult for us to tell without knowing more details, but it is a possibility.  The potential employer may think that you were being dishonest, and so be veering away from you.

  2. You think they may be seeing that temp agency as an unaccounted for employer?

It's quite possible. Although I would think that if they went that far, (in interest) that they would call you and inquire about that "missing" info. However, rite now employers have allot to choose from, due to the economy. Good Luck,  ;-)

  3. Yes, that is possible because your resume/application is not accurate which will show up when your references were checked.  The HR department will have no record of you in your capacity as a temp.  I would contact the HR department of the company you are applying to, and ask if you can clarify your situation.

  4. That may be the case, but it is more likely due to beaurocracy within the company and the summer vacation season. I have seen good candidates lot due to the amount of time it takes to get approvals. Usually the HR staff is busy and this type of thing is just another hurdle to clear and not a top priority for them.( they dont work in the dept. that is short on manpower). Hang in there and be patient, and good luck

  5. no everyone is careful now.

  6. It's a tough job market right now. Keep trying!

  7. I don't think that's the reason. Companies are reluctant to hire people in this economy.  My neighbor had several job offers withdrawn because corporate canceled the job when the hiring manager was putting it in the paperwork for it.
