Do you think I'm schizophrenic?

Hi! Do you think I'm schizophrenic? I have lots of continuous, obsessive thoughts. I believe in lots of conspiracies. I believe in fairies and see auras. I also think I'm a genius. And I believe that I am my own creator. By the way, if I am schizophrenic, I think that's just a social construction created by lesser animals such as yourselves.

  1. "Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental disorder characterized by abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality. It most commonly manifests as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction."

I don't think believing in fairies or seeing auras is anything out of ordinary. I know many people that believe in fairies and see auras and they have no history of being schizophrenic.

I believe in conspiracies also, but I'm just really gullible. So that could be it.

I'm not a doctor, but I don't think you are schizophrenic.

If you are concerned though, go see a doctor.

  2. You are not schizophrenic at all. The continuous thoughts are a sign of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Conspiracies are very real, but not always what they seem. Fairies definitely exist, and I too see auras along with the mischevious fay. Believing you are a genius is either trying to suggest to yourself that you are one, or a sign of narcissism. However, believing in you being your own creator is, to my knowledge, part of various religions and philosophies, like egoism and Anton LaVey Satanism.

As for the lesser animal comment... I think that I have to agree that schizophrenia is a human construction, and not a construction of higher lifeforms like myself, and as I can obviously tell, you. Perhaps you and I should have a discussion about this. If you can find my Yahoo! Mail that I use for this, give me a "call" sometime and I'll give you my MSN so we can chat about higher callings, the fay, auras, and such.

To think that I was diagnosed as schizoeffective by some whackjob psychiatrist because I retained my abilities to see beyond the veil past the age of five.

NO ONE ON THIS WEB SITE is qualified to answer your question!

    # 1 --  If anyone is qualified, they will NOT diagnose you based on what you say and without a formal diagnostic session or more with you, face to face. If they did, they are acting highly unethically, and are in danger of having their license revoked!

    # 2 -- If they are NOT qualified, they do not know what they are talking about, and by diagnosing you without any knowledge of you will only make things worse.

    # 3  --  If you think you actukally have mental health problems on this order, you must make an appointment with a psychiatrist or a psychologist, and talk with them about what you think is going on with you. Just by writing as you did (even if you are goofing on us) you have indicated a very serious mental instability that requires help.

    # 4 -- DO NOT listen to anyone here who diagnoses you with any kind of personality disorder label at all, or offers you advice on what to do or not do as a "schizophrenic" or any other diagnostic label. For the most part you can assume they are youjng teenagers just like yourself.

    #  5  -- NO...normal people do NOT believe in fairies or see auras. That is not a normal thing. It is usually something that teenagers get into because they think their lives are boring and they want to think they are special. They are not special. They are just weird.

    #  6 --  Much of what you are describing about yourself will doubtless go away by the time you enter seventh grade.
