Do you think I am going to be fine living off-campus for my first year?

All the housing on campus are full. WIll I be missing out on the (drinking) parties? (not necessary dorm parties) I am going to Univ of Alberta.

  1. You seem to be missing the main point of college.


  2. I think the most important thing you gain by living in dorms is the ability to make close friends so quickly. If you're bored and have nothing to do, there are always other people there to occupy you and have fun with. This isn't just parties, obviously you don't hear about the parties unless you have friends.

    So I guess my advice is make sure you make friends with people and then you'll be able to hang out with them in their dorms! Are you going to be moving in with anyone off campus? Most people move off campus by the time they graduate anyway, you're just ahead of the curve :)
