  1. you're a pretty good artist.

  2. u r great..and yes u r very talented

  3. Speed drawing 2......  Your good,  but I think you over-did the shadow on her forehead.   But you are really good.

  4. You're not pathetic! You're awesome. But you already know that & don't need strangers to tell you so.

The only advice I can think of (& this is stretching it because you are really good!) is what my professor used to tell us, "know when to stop." Artists tend to keep going & sometimes it ruins the whole piece. Watching your video I kept seeing the drawing as a finished piece & was hoping you'd stop, but you kept going... It's well done, very well done, but I would actually try doing less detail & leaving your work just finished enough to catch someones eye. Other then that, you've got great talent!

& as far as worrying about making a living as an artist, you just stated the fear of every artist on earth who's ever lived! =o) It goes with the territory. Do what you love!

  5. yes oh my goodness yes i loved how you shaded and everything, the movie was cool too  i thought it would just be a picture but i loved watching the progress, you are truley talented

  13. haha, same here with not making a living.  you are really good!!! better than me, but i dont think thats saying much :P  you should be able to if you go in the right direction where there is a need.

  14. you didnt really show the pic of Natalie..and she is one of my fav actress's..your good but that pic did not look like her..you didnt get the eyes right..and she is skinnier than that...try doin caricatures..of friends and make some money :) not bad tho but you need to work on the soul of the person more...capture their spirit...work on the eyes...

  15. that's you?  and you're asking?  kid you know you are good  if that's you.

  16. well thats drawing what you see.

what about from your own mind?

dont let your skills and creativity be limited by a portrait

for an art career i believe you have to do some mind work.

  17. I think you are a very good artist.

  25. Oh wow! You are extremely talented! That is an amazing portrait of Natalie Portman! Yes you definately have some serious skill there. There's no need to feel embarrassed of the question, you wanted to see what people think. I think you have a future in this! :)

    Good Luck,

    Trisha

  26. you drawing is pretty good, and i think you've got the talent. the back of your head is whats disturbing me in the video. lol

  27. It was great to watch you working, checking values and making corrections constantly as you worked.  My first impression was that you could definitely benefit from some classical drawing training, as your ability is evident.  It is good to see an artist who is bold with value contrast and the use of shadows.  My only concern is that you are limiting yourself working off of celebrity photos.  I would like to see you do some live model work.

See if you can get your hands on Juliette Aristides book "Classical Drawing Atelier."  http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...  I believe you will find it useful in helping your growth as an artist.  Do not squander your talent just doing drawings from photos!  Start working on still life set-ups and drawing from casts.

Whether you will make a living  (Juliette is not wildly wealthy, but I would trade places with her in a minute) or remain a starving artist with a good measure of talent, I think you should pursue additional training.  And maybe not even a full-fledged degree . . . perhaps an atelier or other consortium of artists and students.

By the way, after attending a two day workshop with Juliette, I was amazed what a good instructor can teach in a short time.  I would give anything to apply to her classical atelier, but the climb up the three flights to the old fashioned studio, complete with dormer windows and replete with marble and plaster casts and incredible student work . . . well, let's just say I have a disability, and this old school has no elevators!

Can you see yourself in this picture?  http://www.gageacademy.org/upload/Curtis...

    Or how about here? http://www.gageacademy.org/upload/Classi...

Another good book to get is Tony Ryder's "The Artist's Complete Guide to Drawing the Figure" . . .  if you peek at his website, I think you will see a little hint of what you can do:  http://www.tonyryder.com/a-drawings.htm

Do not, I repeat, do not let your talent lie fallow.  And yes, I believe if you develop it and grow and expand your experiences . . . well, you already are an artist .. . . but you just may find a career that might support you!

  28. yeah i think so...

  29. I swear to god you literally took her and smashed into that paper!!!! You are VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY Talented and I hope that you take this on as a job because that picture was AMAZING with a double capital A!!

  30. Omg your really good!
