Do you think I can make it to the Olympics?

I watch the Olympics mostly when they video the water cube. Ever since I watched diving at the Olympics, I began to do tricks that aren't really complicated. I have already been doing flips in the pool ever since when i was 9 till i was 15 which is now. I can already do a front flip and a back flip( trying to learn how to spin while doing a flip and flip then ending in a dive, not really working out yet), but someday i really would want to join the Olympics. That would be amazing. My parents say I am doing really well, but I don't know if that's enough, so I'm asking on Yahoo.

Do you think a 15 year old teenager who hasn't been taking any diving lessons, but already knows how to flip and dive could make it to the Olympics?

  1. hey guy, anyone deserves a chance. since you think you can do well for the flips, you'll be ok. if you want to take diving lessons go ahead, but not so important. The judges are more keen in your flips and ending dives. You will of course stand a chance, as long as you won't flunk any of your flips and ending dives ^0^

  2. the olympics is for the best of the best

you have to master everything and then you MIGHT be able to get in.

  3. Nothing is Impossible. If it is REALLY something that you want to do, you must really become dedicated to it (like beginning right now). I mean, you're kinda late to be considering this. People who are in the Olympics dedicate their life to this starting at a VERY young age.

You would have to work TWICE as hard as people who have been doing this all of their life. And you will need a very good and hard working coach that believes in you.

The odds are very slim, but like I said. NOTHING is impossible. Hard work and dedication is key.

    Good Luck ; )

  4. Honestly no, those people in the olympics start training pretty much when they're born. Sorry though!

  5. sorry but probally not. Most people on the Olympics have been training with a coach for like 15-20 years. That is a good goal in like 10 years but for now try joining your schools swim team and go to compitions with them. Good luck

  6. well lots of people can do flips.. i would say the best thing to do would be to take diving lessons to get super good. goodluck :]

  7. howabout you start with diving lessons and work from there..

  8. It's nice how everybody wants to go to the next Olympics now. In every Olympics happens this.

About you: if you think you're good, find yourself a coach and demostrate him how good you are.

  9. I know next to nothing about diving -- but it seems you'd probably need coaching to develop your diving talent.

It seems that you have the tools to become a top-notch diver .... now you just need someone to help you to the next level.

Perhaps there's a swimming/diving club in your area.   Look into joining.

    .

  10. if your determined, you can do anything

  11. I could never know your level of skills, but one thing I know is that a person needs to be at least 16 to participating in the olympic, a rule that was implemented in 1997. So maybe you could wait for the next olympics and you will be eligible, but of course, the varying factor this time would be your skills.. ..

  12. I think you have to be at least 16 to be in the olympics

  13. Olympians train hard and long for years.  You will have to log off of Yahoo! and go train.  Be prepared to have a limited life but you can do it.    Really, talking about being an Olympian is just talk, you have to get up and train.

  14. if you can dream it you can do it. Go for it .

  15. I think if you practiced really hard, trained well, and maybe possible (hopefully) got a diving coach to train you, or watched training vids on you tube or something, you could probably go to the olympics. It takes a lot of hard work though, and you need to go to meets to get up to the olympic level.
