Do you think I have any hope?

I've found out I have Anxiety, Depression, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and I have a food problem. I'm currently having counselling for them but I think that all of them in one go are too hard to get rid of/be helped. What do you think?

  1. All of them are related so therapy should help you get rid of all of them.

  2. Imagine four bouncy balls. Now imagine them all in a little tub, bouncing around in there. That's what these are doing, bouncing off of each other - what I'm saying is, they are all probably linked. Counselling will work this out and untie the knot. Like my descriptions?

  3. there is always hope.

  9. you do? well, i would say it's gonna depend on how you want the result to turn out.. n since you have taken the first step  by acknowledging the issue and seeking help, i will say you are certainly on your way to a BETTER YOU!

    Stay strong! Stay Positive Ya!

  10. I think there is hope, of course. I have anxiety, depression and PTSD also and I am working through them all. There are gonna be off days but you can do it!

  11. Although you have all of the disorders, I imagine that there is a common cause that links them together. Your counsellor will be trying to address that common cause (i.e. what event or events took place that influenced you in such a way). Your issues will be addressed together, not separately. Its important to remember that unfortunately there is no miracle cure and that your treatment may take time but you will get there in the end. Don't give up.

  12. be positive and push on through, i promise you there are people worse off.

  13. Hello there,

There are three things you can do to reduce stress in your life.

    1) Remove the things that stress you

    2) Reduce the effect the things that stress you have on you

    3) Change the way you feel about the things that stress you so you aren't stressed by them any more

These are relatively simple to do - the first can involve some significant life changes. The others involve some introspection and thinking about who and what you are - which can be hard work for some people.

Write out a list of everything that stresses you and then notice over a course of a month or so what other triggers there are in your life.

Then sit down and work out a plan about how to get rid of or reduce these stress triggers.

If your relationship is stressing you then you need to talk to your partner or even walk away if it is that bad. If your finances are stressing you then you need to sort them out - reduce your spending, consolidate your debt or earn more money.

You have complete control over your life and whatever is causing you stress you need to change. Stress really can kill you - it increases your likelihood of heart attack, stroke and a whole host of potential problems.

Take control of your life and get rid of the sources of stress in your life.  There's a lot more information on combating stress at http://www.howtostaycalm.com.  I got some good tips from there.

Hope this answers your question, but please feel free to contact me if you need any more help!

  14. This may well sound blase and off the cuff from me, but, 'If you are serious about dealing with your problems, if you are willing to face Your Self and look at how they each effect each other and likely create further problems or issues...........

Yes, I think you have 'hope' ....the hope of having a resolve for these things in your life which basically, get in your way.

    Good luck.

    Sash.

  15. there is always hope, keep your chin up and don't let it beat you

  16. Honestly, it's not a question of whether or not you have hope. If you want to "get rid of" these problems, you'll do it. If you don't think you can, then it'll probably never happen. Therapy and counseling can only be effective if you are willing to listen and help yourself. You will never just magically be cured. You are going to need to figure out why you get depressed, and what makes you anxious and change those behaviors. PTSD can be worked through, just don't use it as an emotional crutch.
